I don't remember if this is correct or not, because it's been a long time, but I think I remember I sometimes used the Magic Pot(i think) summon (matches your Brave with your opponents. or switches, i dont remember) to basically OHKO him if he gets his brave up high enough.

Untrue sadly as I've had him use it multiple times even in a row. I rarely use summons if ever and only Odin against him in case of a random bs summon buff during Scarlet Rain etc

This is pretty much the truth about Shinryu. It's cheap as hell in the 2nd/3rd fight when it constantly halves your Bravery when you got enough to make the killing blow on Chaos.

Best advice I can give other than how to counter his moves is not to rely on your EX mode and use it only in emergency situations (To nullify an attack that will kill you, or to stun Chaos when he's hitting you and counter, or for the regen when you're low on HP)

Nice, didn't know the assist meter went down if you didn't play offensively, I like that. Assist system as a whole looks p.awesome, can't wait to get my hands on this. Just wondering how damage scales on your partner. Hopefully their stats are just based on your own, otherwise if they're weaker it'll be worthless to brave attack with them.

Build up your Assist Gauge (below the green life bars) by striking
opponents with your attack.

You also can build up the gauge by just striking at the air without hitting
your opponent, although this takes long.

The Assist Gauge can be built up faster if you use a variety of attacks
rather than the same attack over and over.

You can also charge up the Assist Gauge through HP attacks.

Basically, just be active in your attacks, and the gauge will be built up.

The gauge will deplete if you sit around without attacking.

Once the at least one bar on the gauge has filled up, you can press L and
circle to execute an Assist Brave Attack. Your summoned Assist
Character will automatically attack your foe.

When your Assist Gauge is filled up, press L and circle to execute an
Assist HP Attack. As with the Assist HP Attack, your summoned
Assist Character will attack your foe for you.

No wonder, Laguna was like the best or second best (depending whether you love/hate Squall) character in the game for a lot of people. That was really unexpected indeed.

Oh god. Laguna AND a world map? That made my mind. I just hope "adventure" mode isn't short/awful. Also Laguna seems like he'd be fun to play, we didn't have a ranged attacker that wasn't a mage in the first one.
