Tifa's isn't that hard either (granted being really good at it in FF7 helps). You have to just realize that basically the "YEAH"'s are always clustered in roughly the same spot. So basically you wait like... quarter of a second on the first real and hit X just as the first Yeah comes up. Then wait a quarter of a second or so until the second set of "YEAH"s come around. It's basically the same timing on every real.

If anything, it's much easier than trying to get "YEAH" on the original Final Heaven in FF7 (which is very difficult without the slot trick, which you obviously don't have in this game). The only thing that makes it harder I guess is the like 4 second time span you have to do all 7 reels.

I'm sorry but Gilgamesh is a boss, and a huge troll character with electrocute. I.E. amazing character to play as when you get timing down. Jump sucks however.

This has probably been asked, but how do you unlock Desperado Chaos, or Feral Chaos i guess is what the NA version is called? I assume it's somewhere in the reports like Prishe/Gilgamesh? And is regular Chaos unlockable as a CP character like in 1?

    Main Scenario 000

Regular Chaos can only be fought in the quick battle you can't control him (only Feral/Desperado Chaos)

Yes, Feral has his complete own move set (along with sickest ExBurst animation), which 90% of his attacks all have high priority, so he's a bitch to block. Here's a fun video of a 5v1 play off of Feral http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Gatssdfxk0 (Note that Feral Chaos does have some hacked accessories to give him such high hp, but still a fun idea)

Here's what I think of the changes to some of the old characters.

Firion. Greatly improved. Straightarrow is actually usable and his magic is much better now.

Terra. Nerfed to hell and back. Blizzara and Holy Combo lost range and tracking and while her Fire got better now and chains into Firaga, both Terra and the opponent need to be stuck to the ground to use it, which is not going to happen often at all.

Squall. He still rapes BRV like nobody else's business and he got a new somewhat reliable BRV>HP combo in Thunder Barret>Fated Circle.
Other than TB his magic got nerfed pretty badly though, and the new Fire Barret is just as bad as Mystic Flurry.

Ultimecia. Greatly buffed. Her Knight's Lance is ridiculously fast and reliable, her BRV attacks are much faster overall, Hell's Judgement is faster than you'd think and Shockwave Pulsar's new absorb effect can mess you up.

Shantotto. She plays completely differently now. No more Bind and Bio spam, now you just play mindgames with Stun, followed up by Aero or Stone most of the time. While her EX-mode nerf is huge and her spells lost a lot of range, everything else has been buffed and I find her much more fun to play this time around.

Terra getting nerfed is funny, she wasn't exactly good in the first game either (hard to be great when a dash owns most of your move set).

From the video posted above, Tidus is still awesome.

Whilst Firion didn't get "nerfed" as such, the way the AI reacts to him now means you can't cheese stuff like you could before. In the original Dissidia you could cast Fire and they'd reflect it almost every time, letting you use your Shield Bash (I dunno the English name, whatever) for a free HP attack easily. They dodge it a lot more in this, lol.

Yeah, was the easiest way to cheese through tough battles in that endless fight mode or whatever. Dodging in general seems to have changed too, it's no longer the super-invincible dodging tool it seemed to be. But with assists and all that, landing attacks is now way easier anyway.

The role of taking advantage of AI behavior in battles now belongs to Yuna. Followed closely behind by Lightning.

And Evasion gets back to being way better once you learn "longer dodge jump thingy" and "longer invincibility during dodge"

In case anyone wanted some idea with Prishe and an assist combo.

Raging Fist or Combo --> Backhand Blow --> Detonation --> Kuja assist --> Asuran Fists (can be done in the air if the enemy is within range, otherwise use Aurora Uppercut)

Asuran Fists does good brave and wall rush damage so thus far this is the best combo I could find.

Vid of the guy I learned it from:

also Ex changes hurt him some as well since you can't Use it to get out of an opponent's combo and then immediately go into a Goblin Punch that can't be dodged because theyre staggered.

on a different topic; Tifa and Prishe's "limit break" are a huge pain to get a perfect on.
They took out some moves of his? Ridiculous... I figured he was just gaining more because of the new characters >_>

Been playing this since the EU release on Friday. For some reason I can't chain my Lv 100 Zidane's Meo Twister anymore. :/ I've set it up in the customisation screen but every time I attempt to do it I just get the X prompt for a chase. Yuna,Lightning and Vaan are great to play as so far, I'll probably take them to 100. Laguna is ok, but he takes some getting used to. I can't stand playing as Tifa or Kain though. >< Had a few battles as Prishe but despite her fighting style being similar to Tifas she is pretty fun to play as. Gilgamesh is sloooooooow... Need some speed boosts on him! :D

Currently going through the original Dissidia story. I'm glad they improved it a little with the world map, KP etc and didn't just copy/paste it.

Normally, most links that go from BRV --> HP will go to Chase (or knocks them away) if you hit your BRV attack again instead of HP. You must be pressing it once too many and not pressing HP soon enough.

Gilgamesh's Cyclone HP move is incredibly fast though short in range. If they are next to you you can easily hit them with it each time. Missile is a good poke move that can interrupt some more channel-like moves if done in anticipation including Rough Divide (if it hasn't already started flying toward you anyway), Jecht Shot (silly AI gets hit by Missile all the time when doing this), etc.

Think his bread and butter is his BRV charging move where he spins both weapons in front of him as it is fast, has good distance, and quick recovery. His short range attack that knocks the enemy onto the ground I think is mostly for assist combos so you can do something like Saber Dance or Cyclone right after. As someone mentioned before his Electrode move is very good for abusing and assist gauge charging. So nice to stop f'ing Shift Break with it everytime.

Kuja assist is great for sure, but you can combo with almost any assist in the game extremely easily. Some are good for ground or some for air. Didn't dick around with enough to find if one was good for both. Prishe has ton of ground/wall rush moves and all of which you can easily chain in to a ground assist. Wall is obviously situational since you can't always land them on big maps.

I haven't touched this game since I beat 000 in the JP version, think I'm gonna have to grab the English release later and get cracking through it again... talking about it keeps making me want to play more, lol.

I honestly don't find Tifa to be very similar to Prishe at all aside from the fact that they are fast a punch things but I don't have either at any level worth really comparing them... my Tifa's only 20-something, heh. (been playing too much XI, not much dissidia)

Yeah they're really not similar at all. Tifa is more slower, powerful hits that you can mindfuck people with with feints and Prishe is all about fast combos and wallrushing. I don't really enjoy Tifa too much but I think she'd be fun to mess around with in multiplayer. Without being able to fake out the AI with feints properly she's just... uninteresting. Almost all of her moves have horrible range and they're extremely easy to dodge. Prishe on the other hand is fun as hell to play for me. Her projectiles are ass but she more than makes up for it with the variety of her punches.
