I just purchased a new XFX Radean HD5770 and after I hook it up to my motherboard and turn the PC on, I am unable to get past the boot screen. I figure it is because I have been using a GeForce 7950 and my drivers aren't correct yet. So I start up in safe mode and I do get the "New Hardware" window show up. It prompts me to install the new drivers, so I pop the CD in and attempt to follow the CD's on-screen instructions. However it asks me to get the new drivers from their website, however while in Safe Mode (w/ Networking) I'm not able to access the internet since I use a WiFi USB reciever.
So right now I've popped my old video card back in and I am extremely hesitant on what I should do right now. It was suggested to me that I DL the drivers for the card, then boot up in Safe Mode, remove my Nvidia drivers and continue to try and install the new drivers. However if that doesn't work, I have to go digging for new Nvidia drivers for my old card.
I'm using Windows XP btw, any suggestions would be appreciated.
