Tales of the Abyss - heads up!

hey all,

Gamestop just started selling copies of Tales of the Abyss for $20 used. and they're all over - a few days ago I couldn't find one within 100 miles, now the 3 closest stores all have copies.

I'm not 100% certain, but from the internet chatter I'm hearing, they're actually NEW copies that were held for a very long time, being repackaged as used. don't quote me on that but I've heard it on cheapassgamer, gamefaqs, and other places too.

buy this. now. $20 for a copy that is basically new, something that would have cost you over $100 on ebay a few days ago. one of the rarest and most expensive PS2 games at bargain bin prices, NEW. you can even order them online from Gamestop.com, which hasn't been an option for years. do it!

Thats retarded, since new copies are worth $100, Gamestop wouldn't do something like that, if anything they'd repackage used ones as new and put them on ebay.

Might just be a local thing? Or in select areas. The GameStop's around here don't have any new or used copies in-stock(I own it already, but just curious.)

it's definitely not local but it's probably not all stores. you can buy it online no matter where you live, though - a sure sign they have a ton of copies.

and maybe the theories behind the sudden availability of the game are wrong but the fact remains that I picked up a used copy today for $20 with a pristine disc and manual. if anything it has been very gently used at worst.
