Whiro rate sucked for me, 4/15 maybe? (With one double drop.) I got the remaining seals off the Eruca NM. First time I did it /w me + dualboxing BRD + RDM + BLM. Went 0/4 on bale seals. Tried again the next night /w me + dualboxing BRD + RDM + SAM + THF and got 4 seals in 4 or 5 fights. Random luck is random luck, but I'd stick to those two NMs if you can get a small group together. Eruca drops DRK BLM NIN PUP, shouldn't be too hard to find someone who wants the others seals~
Does anyone have any info on Gaizkin?
I usuallybuff up, and then sleeepga or diaga the incoming swarm far from the Martello, then kite them around a the martello so the npcs grab one, and run away with the rest. This prevents the chariots from raping everything with their aoe, and since i have hate on all the mobs, I get credit for each kill. That's my solo strat and seems to work, unless there are no npcs that battle.
Any strats on Amun. Thing is a beast and he just stays at 100%.
Kill it dead? Nothing really fancy, just make useless jobs that feed tp go do something more useful, like stand and stare into the wall. The hardest part about the fight is pulling the damn thing because it likes to sit there randomly after I cast/throw something at it and not aggro.
Is the fight hard? what job did you go as?
Whiro on the other hand is easy, we did it with 4 ppl, and i got 3 Drks out of 8 kills. I wonder if I should stick with Whiro if the Eruca is harder.
No, it just has 1 TP move, Catharsis, that heals it for ~5k HP and gives it a silence/amnesia/poison aura as an Aftermath (ya that's right, enemies have AMs now!). We had no problems at all with rdm/nin, rdm/nin, blm. I'd assume you could drop the blm fine as long as the rdms have -MDT sets. Melee kinda sucks due to TP fed (but can definitely still kill it with melee, we have), but the thing is pretty harmless itself.
Ah I see, I will give it a try, thank you.
Amun has Petro Eyes as well. But it's odd. We definitely fought it once where it ONLY used petro eyes, and it was obviously piss poor easy. And that fight we spammed TP on it since it was our first fight and we didn't even see a Catharsis. Other times it'd do Catharsis every single WS, which is absolutely retarded.
But yea, it can't kill you, it'll just eat up all your abyssea time if you feed it TP. Which is way worse..
Any suggestions for Warbler?
Thorny posted a strat the other day that basically involved two RDM/NIN casting saboteur+slow/para on it and a BRD casting elegy and then just going to town. We tried that the other night and it worked out well for us. Para definitely rapes it and cuts down on the unlucky enpetrify getting through.
Can Wherwetrice be duo'd? I couldn't seem to find any discussion on it and Wiki's no help >.<
Anyone got exact locations for miasma? I think the air quality is at its best here so I have no idea where to look.
Yes. 2 rdms should be able to bounce it fine. It has a high (maybe 100%) DA rate. Petrify can be avoided with back to it. Mute can suck, but other red mage should be fine to hold it as long as you don't get muted together. There's also a semi-pin spot just north of the pop spot. It's really hard to cast without the "end up where you started trick" while keeping it pinned, but it's easy to pin it so it never hits you while your partner unmutes.
I don't see any reason a DD + rdm couldn't do it...but it'd be harder unless you trio'd with a bard.
the ONLY one i've ever seen is otw to the erucas. hit conflux 7, to left until you hit the wall, turn left again and try to go to the erucas. The problem you're going to have is the area is an extremely heavy traffic area, because people are heading to that spot for the rockhopper for their head seal quests, so the likelyhood of you seeing the miasma is slim.
SAM/NIN x2 BRD RDM WHM destroys it, THF for TH and BLM for Time Flavored Chests. It has 3 modes. One where it only uses the "breath" attacks, another where it only uses Rage/Pounder, and another where it exclusively uses Death Scissors (and it can switch after a certain amount of time - almost never saw this unless we dicked around trying for !!s). Either AoE mode = Hasso face tank for maximum profit. Otherwise just keep shadows up and it'll go down quickly.
If you're only doing it for SAM head, fight the worm (Pallid Percy). Easier and from our experience the drop rate was higher for SAM.
Looking at 'Hazy Prospects' quest, and wondering if anyone has done this and has any suggestions on this. If there is only 1 'targetable' miasma in the zone, I can see a massive stone hole doing this and abyssite of lenity, meh, although I can see being able to remove certain miasma in the future, perhaps, somewhat useful.
