Might be a bit hairy at times, i'd take a fantatics with you. Been a few weeks since i fought it, but i think it has almost permanent double attack, which would take down your avatars quick.

Really easy duo mnk/nin and whm/whatever. Abyss Blast hits fairly hard, but it's nothing a single Cure V can't take care of.

Used Gnarled Horn and Razed Ruins. Killed the fucker four times so far without a single seal or KI drop.

I fought it once, but it wasn't a successful attempt.

It went into a mode where it spammed the hell out of TP moves... it would do ~3 Undead Mold attacks for ~250-350 damage, then Abyss Blast for 1000-1300 damage... all really fast... and then it'd repeat the cycle immediately.

Once it killed the MNK, it stopped doing this for a bit... but it eventually got nasty again. It seemed to have a "rage" mode.

I'd suggest a BLM, good healers and some sort of magical damage mitigation to be in place.

Just did this as RDM/NIN x2 and BRD/WHM.

Either sneak pull it, or have the BRD sac pull it to the "bridge" at H9. It's right before his spawn area. One RDM stand on one side, the other RDM on the other side so there's a nice distance gap between the two. Saboteur Slow2/Elegy/Paralyze and just bounce hate between the two RDMs. Abyss Blast/Undead Mold does pretty much nothing with capped Stoneskin/Shell4. I only had Abyss Blast break SS once, and it was only for 107 damage.

Pretty damn easy. 0/1 on any type of seals so far.

If tanking with melee, just keep hp above 1.1k and bomb cures during blast.

Just get your melees to turn around (stop attacking) once it starts using tp moves and it should stop spamming tp moves after using once or twice.

My friend soloed on DNC and we duoed on MNK + RDM. One of the easiest nm in abyssea. I didnt even care to put shadows up sometimes.

There's no atma to proc with Gaizkan. Tanking him with mnk is no different in that regard than tanking him with any other job.

As for grellow with low-manning, I think everyone knows that sometimes you get lucky with it, but most of the time you just kill and hope.

Sometimes you kill with those jobs you proc. !! yellow with before even proc'ing it once , just by cycling through the potentially triggering spells , T1s don't have that much HP which can take all those spells D: .

I killed almost all my T1s without grellow. I have 6 +2s and 23 +1s. How many do you have?

To elaborate, killing a T1 takes maybe 5 minutes on a bad day. 3 minute repop, during which you can easily get a new trigger. If you add an extra 5 minutes to proc grellow you're nearly doubling it, and you can't even 100% proc.. not to mention adding people means dividing loot that many more ways. If you have it, by all means use it, but it's certainly not more efficient.

I agree that procing grellow on a popped NM is a bit of a waste of time. You'll have to fight so many T1s to get enough T2 pops to complete Empyrean+2s, you'll end up throwing so many seals in the garbage. Procing red on a timed NM *is* worth the effort to get their key item.

It's not luck. I've had plenty of no-drop mobs, but when you can do it without outside help while sustaining TEs it doesn't hurt much.

If you're implying I whore drops, you're entirely wrong. I even run linkshell farms and pass everything because I know a lot of people won't take the initiative to farm on their own time. Additionally, it just further validates my point: any loss in time from green !! is in addition to the higher number of people to split drops. Less people = more drops per person.

Useful contribution.

If you're going specifically for AF3+1 Seals, aiming for grellow is almost always a waste of time. Duo them, if you have more people split off and do multiple NMs at once. Can toss out a few grellow spells, but it's not at all practical to demand grellow on them.

I said nothing about proccing other !!s on other mobs, you'd be retarded to not try for it on af3+2 trinkets..
