@Thorny
What is a good number for amber lights targetting AF feet drops? I noticed they seem to be more common from small gold boxes compared to the big/max amber ones since max amber adds more stuff that could be obtained.
I want to idiot-proof Itzpapalotl and I didn't find a lot of in-depth details searching the thread. Is it cus it's that simple? Doing carol + barwater + addle on sedna wasn't very impressive as I was expecting a lot of full and 1/4 resists. So I'm thinking maybe we should step away from fire resist for the wamoura. Nobody in our group has Ebon Hoof and the report of a 2.5k Fire Break on wiki has me a bit worried.
Itzpapalotl can be easily kited by any job without the use of Atma of Ambition, I had to do it on BRD/WHM with Atma of the Minkin Monstrosity, and Atma of Voracious Violet ... ... I was on role to proc red !! with staff :< only had ASA pants 8% soon I will have those nice AF3 feeties :3
Would Fool's powder/etc block Fire Break?
Did Itzpapalotl last night and it went well. Kited round large rock south of chigoes. Started up straight tanking it (didn't want to, but ppl didn't listen) and proc'd Red!! before a tank died to Fire Break. It built 100% Stun resistance after about 15+ Stuns. It was firesday but the variability on Fire Break damage may be explained by it having TP surpluss. Not sure if anyone's ever shown or proven that mobs' TP ability damage varies by TP, but I don't see why it couldn't. The other tank started kiting it around the rock while we tried for grellow/bue. Didn't get it and just killed it regularly. It did go up from 50% to 90% with Exhuviation. I believe it had a lot of debuffs on it from trying to proc grellow. Stopped enfeebling it and took it down with nukes and melees running after it and hitting it when it stopped to cast. Felt like an easier version of kited Kirin, since it doesn't move fast.
EDIT: Gravity landed once or twice and resisted it afterwards. It wasn't needed though. Just an fyi.
Planning on duping sandworm nm tonight rdm and blm both sub nin, anyone have any suggestion. I.E don't do it it's impossible.
If you manage to dupe the sandworm NM, please do let us know how. I would love double the NMs for half the effort spent farming pops!
dupe that SOJ!
Itza can be done with 4 rdms in 5 minutes. Kite around the rock, nuke like you mean it, most of the time you can range fire break if it doesnt ready while you are casting. If its hitting you though you should be running because it will plow through shadows, ss, and hp. All in all extremely easy fight once you kite it. If you, for w.e reason, want to proc atma then just bring the jobs and have them use their brains to land WS while its being kited. No need for grav but if it helps you then go for it.
Any strats for Nightshade? Does it do anything special?
pull it over to the mountain and have the mages up on the ledge. it spams the hell out of petalback spin, which gives you about every possible debuff including a tp-draining virus. if you stick too much melee on it it's easy to get overwhelmed, just take it slow and keep your main tank up and erased and it's not too tough. if you have a monk with a good counter build it's your best bet for tanking.
Wiki listed blu can solo itza easy with regurgitation. Any truth to this?
a well equipped war + retaliation, or i imagine a mnk with counter setup takes Nightshade down easily with support
Anyone been using a straight tank strategy for Wherwetrice? Looking for tips on killing it with roughly 6-8, mostly dd/nin, or pld if needed and support. If not can someone show me the kite location? Can always have people switch to mage jobs and keep burning them. Thanks in advance.
Have you actually fought it? It's not hard at all. Engage, hit until it dies. Bring Stona unless you feel like turning after every hit when it's about to WS. Seigan is nice to have. Don't bring PLD Q_Q
