Abyssea - Misareaux Discussion

Something interesting I have noticed from doing a few stacks of meat for the legs:

Different tiers of galka sausage appear to correlate with higher drops of certain seals.

I have seen from various stacks:
NQ: More Bale
+1: More Cirque
+2: More Estoquier (sp)
+3: More Sylvan

When I used a stack of +3, I got about 3-4 sylvan. +2 gave me 4 esto. NQ gave me 4 bale. Now with only 8 +1s, I got 2 cirque.

This may be completely random but there may perhaps be some pattern to this.

ive used NOTHING but +3 and gotten 21 rdm 13 pup 3 drk 1 rng. about 30 nothings and runs of 10-12 times with out seals and as high as 7 in a row.

I used entirely NQ and got 8 PUP and 8 RNG, 3 RDM 2 DRK.

So yeah, looks to be just random.

Did cooking book for 10 hours got
22 Sam
20 Bst
16 Whm
8 Thf

Yea... I was trying to get my thf pants upgraded.

SE always hates THF.

Went as THF for 6 hours to get 5 seals and decided to try going as Sam and get 3 for 4 hours.
So I do think jobs are not affected the reward.
Thf is best job to do this though. Hide & Flee at Peiste are best to de-aggro.

Why oh why does Corsair come from the most brutal repeatable quest (Medical Supplies)

At least an awesome Abyssite comes from it as well...

Speaking of that, is it fairly common to get it?(the abyssite)

Quest seems annoying, I was just thinking of running around to find a small group farming and beg them to join and open a blue box.

Abyssite is close to 100% (if not) when you first complete the quest. Max of 3 tries I would say.

EDIT: Your begging method is probably the best way; you can only do the quest once per zone in, so you have to wipe your lights (by zoning) in order to repeat it... Alternatively get a nice friend/mule to camp inside and snipe with Azure for chests; either way it's a PAIN IN THE BUM.

So far Wiki only lists the Fly NM as dropping SMN legs seals. Anyone seen them drop from any others? I'm finding it much quicker and more fun to find a few friends and do a bunch of NMs rather than spam the logging point quest (especially as my war and dnc legs are done and I don't need sch). So, I'd sooner find an NM which is more melee friendly to help me finish these seals off.

Nice to know it's almost 100% that will make it far less annoying to accomplish.

Did Cookbook quest for a long time. 3 days in all with roughly 15-17 stones used up. I have gotten 18/8 WHM; 12/8 SAM; 10/8 BST and only 6/8 THF. Also, for some reason this quest has a strange pattern for me. I never got any seals twice in a row. She would give me only Cruor 4-7 times in a row consecutively, followed by a seal, than back to Cruor. Of course I was bum rushing this like a madman and gotten so good at it, that I would be able to hit up same ??? 3 times (except Colibri) which made me think perhaps there's a cooldown on Seal reward?

I dunno. This NPC is my most hated one atm. Not looking forward to Galka's crazy antics

Frigatebirds, and they drop Avian Remex, Rare trigger for ??? in the same area to spawn Manohra, standard bird NM. Cyclone triggered red !!, no Atma, but did drop Raider's seal: legs.

Any other details on this NM? This is the only post I found involving this NM's name, and theres no details at all about it...unless there arent any details to be had and its literally just "a standard bird NM", other than what I've been able to assess from wiki (only uses Helldive, and it has enaero)
After spending close to 4 hours worth of Abyssea time doing cookbook quest, I think I'll get my remaining 5 seals faster just doing a ghetto xp pt on birds and fighting the NM every 3 minutes.

Fought it about 8 times yesterday with 6 characters at most, normally just 5. mnk/nin thf/nin drg/nin and dual-boxed rdm and whm tore it up. Only thing to note is if Damnation Dive hits you (deals damage) then it gains a 30s Silence Aura - it only gains this Aura if it deals damage, if Utsu absorbs the attack then there's no Aura. Aside from that it's piss easy, enfeebs landed fine even from my whm mule, and it doesn't use that AoE wind attack most birds do either.

It definitely started casting on me while i was spamming meat for the sausage quest. Noticed there was only 2 clusters, it then aggro'd someone next to me who decided to run off rather than trade. Came back relatively quickly and with 3 clusters.

Didn't notice any movement speed, though can't confirm this.

BLU BRD RNG PLD legs...COR legs drop off the fly NM, as far as timed pops go.
