Sea monk: If you're SMN happy, 2 SMN can down it in abou 10 minutes with decent atma. More SMN > faster death.

brd + any melee, carols makes it a joke as it rarely does regular hits for sea monk
Good to know... I have my MNK, a RDM (who wants NIN seal) and a DNC for this... Could probably get a BRD (who want THF seals) as well...
Does anyone know what the easiest mob in this zone would be to get cor feet seals?
COR Aqua Puraga Div-e Sepid Dvalinn Pascerpot
Crawler it seems
Any idea how to lowman Dvalinn?
I've heard of SAM + BRD + RDM varieties (So try that out if you like), but the way I did this was to kite around convlux 07. You can gravity him, so bring a good RDM. When I did him (4-5 members), I had to HP a few times because our mages never learned the spell ERASE, but if you bring competent healers, you should be fine. Spam erase; I cannot stress this enough. Having slow + bind on you is not helping you at all. Keep your HP high in preparation for Hellclap. In short, gravity, kite around convlux 07, erase, and bring a DD that can do nice spike damage (I went BLU for this).
So doing Karkadann today everything was going normal until Energy Drain proc'd red !! and then Karkadann disappeared completely. It dropped off Wide Scan and stayed off it for around ~4mins until it just suddenly reappeared and continued to attack as if nothing happened.
This isn't normal is it? It didn't do the Dark Ixion spook animation, it just froze and depopped offscreen.
My group farmed him this weekend for a while. It was a joke with MNK/NIN and SAM/NIN tanks, supported by BRD COR WHM RDM ( WHM and COR were dual boxed so 4 players total). Can most likely be done with just 1 tank/melee as well as 1-2 healer. Trick is to just not heal it too much when it WSs. Also remember it pops right near a martello. Have the melee stand opposite the martello with their backs to the wall, so that hellclap doesnt knock them out of cure range.
No powerful atmas were used, just ebon hoof and sellsword for melees and windy heavens for support.
Tried to stun on rdm/drk but was resisted 50% of time, wasnt much of a problem however because the nukes werent devastating dmg wise.
Just watch out for the TP moves which have fairly long animations and do not WS during that time.
Whm brd Sam/Mnk could prolly do dvalinn with ease. The fight is only dangerous if you don't get cackle off fast enough and even then hell clap rarely 1shots.
Edit: I'm assuming the brd and the whm have access to miniken atma which in retrospect might be a silly assumption if you're fighting dvalinn for the KI for the t2. If you don't have the atma just bring another rdm or whm
rdm mnk can win w/o atma, provided attentive players and mnk has mdt gear
sam is probably fine as a substitute, but esp with only one eraser having more hp is a huge plus
if you have atma it's a complete joke, was doing as much as 12% per ws with dia3 and no attack buffs on mnk/nin >.>;
Thanks, most of us have 2 Lunars and most/all of the synthetic atmas + some easy to get ones including ebon hoof... Guess it's time to give it a try!
Calling bullshit, since Maelstrom started out at 515 and ended up doing 1500+ by the time it hit ~25%. This was with Carol II and Barwatera on a MNK. Also, it swung plenty in between Maelstroms.
Are we talking about the same NM? It's Maelstroms start at 500, and eventually reach 1500+. After each Maelstrom, it gains a silence aura, and frequently double attacks for 250 damage per swing.
How the hell are you guys supposedly duoing this either without Carol, or with a less than ideal main healer (BRD)?
Supposedly maelstorm gets stronger with every use. You are probably killing it too slowly to see 1500+ maelstorms.
Needs more Chainspell, apparently.
Does your healer suck and are you playing too conservatively on mnk? That would probably be you're answer since one > the other > slower kill etc.
