Quoting to confirm. Did Cockatrice since there's a nice cluster N-NE from the OP. Competition but was alot easier to get claim at the moment compared to the clusterfuck the Mire turned into, plus I could whip out the NPC to speed things up and provide support.

I got my first 2 on Imps, last 3 on Cockatrice, and others have reported getting it from Demons in Xarc [S] so seems that way.

And these things look like they are in the same pool as Beastmen Seals and Kindred Seals. So every time the mob decides to put out, you have a chance to get 1 of the 3. Kindred seals dropping are such a troll when trying to farm the crests.

They do drop in normal Abyssea zones.

I spent an hour in Kuftal on Robber Crabs and got 6 beastman's seals and 3 Kindred's seals, but no crests.

I don't think they share a spot. I had a BS and crest in the same pool. Got it off a wivre in thickets.
