Got mine from Defoliate Treant x3 in Wajaom, but that was too slow. Moved to Bhaflau and got one from a Chigoe that spawned from a Marid and then one from a Colibri.

Haven't seen a single crest in well over 100 kills. Have tried Boyahda and Mount Z. Going to try some VT+ mobs and see if that changes anything >.>

Was thinking about going into abyssea for a LS exp/merit party, and once capping exp on rdm (about 30k) in hoping that enough crests have dropped in that setting? From experiences so far do you think that's a solid plan, or stick with soloing them in other areas first?

If you're the only one getting them it may work. I dunno. Took me around two hours killing DC crap solo in Mamook to get mine. Other folks in LS went in a group to KRT and got fewer than I did in the same amount of time AFAIK.

I went with some pick-up Abyssea exp runs to get WAR and SAM to 85, and there were quite a few people who'd joined simply to cap merits and lot crests. In my last group, three people got their five crests in the first two hours.

also, f these things. solo farmed for a while, then went to mamools for about 3ish hours and got maybe 5 seals, none of which fell to me. at least i got some whm xp, slow as it may have been.

we got maybe 20 crests in a 3 hour exp session. it's a viable tactic, but halfway through, these people were capped on merits/xp waiting for crests, so it gets harsh after a while.

Yep, entered the game after update feeling amazing and just saying "wow they really did a great job this time".

5 hours later I logged off with 2 crests saying "fuck SE, fucking FFXI" and went and had a beer.

i had the same problem as everyone else until a friend of mine came up with a little trick. he was doing this in castle zvahl [s], killing stuff both inside and outside, and getting better drop rates than just staying in one zone. i dont know why it works, but zoning seems to help.

i was farming them in the tree for over an hour and got only one. then i tried his trick, zoned into the cloister, went back to the tree and got one in just a few kills. eventually i tried waiting 5 minutes in the cloister after each time i got one (after remembering some sort of 5 minute thing for other seals) and from them on i was able to get one very quickly after coming back to the tree. the zoning and waiting 5 minutes seemed to help drop rate a LOT.

I only lasted less than 2 hrs. After reading how people spent hours and hours trying to farm them, I realized this isn't going to happen overnight. I'm not that kind of player that HAS to be lvl 85 like some of the hardcore users here. SE just loves to throw a twist, its a shame because I was so discouraged, I just logged and will rather wait it out.
I guess I can do the new campaign style in void.

It's a quest, I don't understand all the bawww. There's a shitload of other content to do while farming/waiting to get all the seals. God forbid people don't get everything simply handed to them so they can go back to afking in WG at level cap.
