Has anyone figured out if it's possible to obtain Unkai Head seals from a repeatable quest anywhere, or are they only available from killing NMs?
Does anyone know the other quests for the COR seals?
All I know is Aqua Puraga for feet, but that's it.
Finished Unkai Haidate +1 today. Yesterday 120 minutes net me 4 SAM seals from cookbook, a few whm bst and thf. Got really lucky, did 1 last one that night for a 5th.
Today was relatively more tedious, spent 115 minutes and then 3 stones worth ontop of that, but well worth it. Workin on that obnoxiously awesome hat next, I heard something about Pallid Percy, popped with Wailing Rags from Spuks in Attohwa? Is that what I should be aiming for?
Pallid Percy is popped with Lumps of Blanched Silver from Entozoons (Tiny worms). Wailing Rags and Spuks is a new one to me. Unless that is what you call getting annoyed at the worms not dropping the pop item when you want it. Need to set a stun order for when it does draw in to prevent Mud Slide which does 1k+ to everyone. Pretty easy otherwise. 2-3 stuns should be enough to cover stopping Mud Slide as long as they aren't casting or w/e when it is their turn to stun. Excessively long explanation aside, SAM head seals were kinda rare for us, maybe 5 seals total out of 20+ Pallid Percy.
Nothing fancy really. I got all the seals from Athamas and Avalerion. Friday night I think it was I got lucky and joined a shout group where I was the only one with Monk /seacom'd. Got 4 seals on that run. Then Saturday was a bunch of random shout groups that typically went bad and it seemed like Tantra seals weren't dropping. Guess I got 0-1 seals. Sunday was going crappy as well having done like 3-4 shout groups, very last run there was only one other Monk /seacom'd and I was able to win the rest of the seals.
Monk or Blm head is next. Whichever is easier to get.
Edit: Reminds me of doing Dynamis. Sometimes (maybe most of the time) you just have shit luck, at least for these shout runs. Hopefully going to start doing these with my friends and our low man abyssea group. We get it done and theres no bs involved. Just waiting on people to get their jobs back up to cap. And I would be attempting to go on these Head Seal runs tonight cept I got a dumb ass pointless meeting at work at 9 pm. Sorta ruined my whole deal tonight.
Pallid Percy is not so bad, duo'd twice as blm/rdm+rdm/whm. Stun helps if you can land it after draw-in, but sometimes you're stuck casting something else. With proper buffs (pro/shell/ss/abyssea buffs) mud slide was doing ~300 each. The only real danger was the Aga4 immediately after that you're unable to run from.
Remember to bring echoes.
Stun's aren't required for this at all. We've been doing it with 4 people. Sam whm, brd, thf. It is a healing intensive fight. As for his draw in/Mudslide, it was easily manageable. mages keep up SS, whm stays in aff. misery to use esuna right after. Having a strong cure 5 helps a lot.
Haven't read EVERY post, but I didn't see any testing of cast/recast penalty from Hasso with Unkai Haidate+1 (long shot, I know... but it was a quick test so why not?). Recast on Reraise wearing just Haidate+1 with no hasso was 56 seconds. With Hasso it was 1:24, as expected. Doesn't look like it affects cast/recast penalty.
I'm having the worst time with the Cookbook lol.
I've tossed 9 Samurai Seals, 7 WHM, and only gotten 4BST and 4THF =\
I hate wasting these things, not being able to trade them is retarded, we can trade a good chunk of the other Empyreon Stuff. Chukwa Eggs, Chasmic Stingers/etc.
Why give us quests that shoot out 4 seals and be forced to toss the ones you don't need =(, Could have at least made it to where if you teamed up it would pool the items.
Maybe if we all complain they'll make em trade-able =(
I could get by with it not being tradeable if it was fucking stackable. That's my biggest beef with those seals. You can't even store up other jobs because you don't have the inv.
