I agree the DRK gear (and most of the pet jobs except for SMN oddly enough) are a tad underwhelming, but when December rolls around I wouldn't be surprised if they can be further upgraded into +3 or even (dare I say it?) +4 versions? Assuming SE keeps buffing these sets up and to level 99 versions, I sincerely doubt we'll ever need any other NM dropped gear ever again unless it's supremely powerful/situationally useful.

Although it's the minority, DRK set isn't terrible for Apoc owners. With the AF3 hat, Dusk +1 Gloves/Timahrli (Or Homam/Dusk + Blitz) and N. Sash/Speed Belt you're capping haste during aftermath. And the legs and feet are pretty damn solid options during aftermath in that case as well as giving you the set bonus.

What are you talking about? Why do you want ANOTHER head piece that enhances breath? The DRG helm is amazing. It's a perfect TP piece which means you will wear it the majority of the time which in turn increases the usefulness of the wyvern: absorb damage stat. Not to mention 20 attack and 7 skill. The legs completely outclass Ares and Hecatomb. The feet completely replace Homam aside from Healing Breath macros, and the further increased TP Bonus for Spirit Jump can only be a boon. If you have any bit of disappointment with the DRG set you need to reevaluate how you play the job.

To be honest, I think that they had Apocalypse owners in mind when they made the gear. If they gave a whole bunch of new haste options on the pieces then the gap between relic and non-relic DRKs would become smaller.

Between Jailer of Love drops and the other AV items, there is plenty to go around. I don't think any group of non sucks would have trouble with 21 people anyways. Also consider how much easier JoL pop items are to farm now.

There's also Bullwhip Belt for a handful of jobs which should at least lessen the competition on it. Yeah it's not going to be a cakewalk to get but I'd say it's probably easier to get an N Sash than a Speed Belt/Velocious Belt if you're in a LS capable of killing AV.

EDIT: Assuming you don't just buy a V. Belt for cheap that is. Obviously that's the easiest option.

if you can farm 100m for an apoc, you can pay ~8m for a velo belt (and that's a high estimate).
Probably does more proportionately for the money than relic

As a tp set sure, but it has some awesome macro/WS pieces. Dont know how anyone without any other jobs which actually got good AF3 would pass these up.

I think the fact that you're upgrading them via the Magian Moogle via trials is why it's on there yellow text or not.

I was hoping for one that would combine both AF and Relic effects, thus eliminating the need for both. Or maybe even a 75% HB trigger instead of 50. It's not that it isn't good (It's fucking crazy), it's just not what I was hoping for.

The DRK pants are far and away the best weaponskill pants for the job, for scythe and greatsword. The shoes are the best high-damage feet, by a huge margin. They're also both great casting (lol) pieces. The shoes are better for nuking than the BLM ones, derp.

Lack of haste, I can deal. Presumably there will be options elsewhere.

equivalent of Carabosse/Briareus, etc drops 2 things (we got 2 different ones), so seems like this isn't gonna be just falling out of the sky like people think it is...gonna take a bit more effort (or greed) to even finish 1 job full set of af3+2.
