Any word on PLD set? have some folks on another forum claiming 10% proc rate for 2 pieces, 25% for all 5. Fucking no way, I said. Just based off the other sets, I plain refuse to believe that until I see some proof.
There's an extra ~1.00-1.05 modifier you forgot to add. Which makes the max crit 3.15. 3.15*66 = 207. (or 196*1.05 = 207.) 291/207 = ~40.5% which means it's still within range of the expected 43%. Ranged tests show the 1%/hit is accurate, and your test is showing it at least goes up to +~40% crit damage outside Abyssea. I think it's safe to assume it can go up to the +50% cap.Here you go:
Simian Fists +12
skill 384 +45
fSTR+9
total= 66
Max crit 3*66=198
291 crit would be ~47% increase from max crit. That 291 crit was 43 hit in a row w/o missing. 4 from those 43 were counters. So either its a little more then 1% or I'm missing something or counters gives +2%?
Cruor buffs don't affect latent thresholds.
You should really test out that claim before you make it. I need ~37% HP to hit my Sorcerer's latent. I stopped using it because of this.
Unless you're agreeing with me and I misunderstood? You need the same HP outside abyssea as inside to trigger your latent, approximately 75% of your base HP.
I don't have jobs with useful latent rings but I thought it was basically if your HP down macro triggered the latent outside that same macro would proc your ring inside. If I was wrong my bad.
Either way I'm not really sure how 7 INT trumps 10 MAB, ignoring convenience.
I agree, there is really no way that a 7 int ring will top Sorc ring, however, after getting one-shot on Koghatu I decided that full HP would be safer that a minor damage increase.
Uh pretty sure as long as you're at 75% (without convert hp to mp gear) with cruor buffs the latent still triggers, meaning ~37% HP is way overkill.
Yeah, that's correct. You need to actually be at 75% though, which is a different calculation inside vs. outside Abyssea, in that nuking in Convert HP->MP gear will affect your threshold differently in the two cases.
I heard only thing you need to make usually to trigger latent is simply cancel hp cruor buff.
depends how many merit abyssite you have/what your hp down gear is like.
That does not work, cruor HP/MP buffs do not affect the base thresholds for latents, you'll need to work on similar HP that you'd need without them.
It's very easy to test, cast a spell with ring unequipped, then click off cruor HP buff (took me to 49% HP back when I tested), equip Sorc. Ring in empty slot and cast the same spell on the same mob, no change in damage.
Just as Jimothy mentioned, it's not worth using in Abyssea, unless they change the way cruor buffs affect thresholds in the future.
The problem is that you are saying one thing and Seia another and i could keep going and listing ppl on both sides that are 99% sure its that or another. My BLM is placed on like 7th place on my priority list so I dont have sorc ring and cant test myself. Some testing with proofs by someone would be nice.
Quick test at work.
Naked, just ring on second nuke.

Well dang, you're right - guess I didn't test this thoroughly enough myself before - sorry for any confusion I made D;
what about uggy? is cruor buff included in the calculation?
