Midnight Releases?

Yeah, just called both Gamestops around here and got some guy that didn't know WTF I was asking about but then eventually caught on and told me they weren't selling it, and the other one had this dude who was totally firm on the street date and wouldn't even budge when i tried to talk about servers opening a day early etc etc.
Lame as shit, can't wait for people who ordered to get 15 levels before I even log on QQ

Blah Gamestop hasn't been picking up all day.. Called from 5 different numbers. I don't wanna go there and come back empty handed. ><

I tried talking to them today, and they wouldn't budge lol. Not that I expected them to anyhow

Just went by my Gamestop on 21st and 6th in Manhattan to check in and pick up Civ 5 (Looks awesome). I'm 1 of 3 CE orders and they wouldn't let me buy it early, even though the chick that works there has a crush on meh.

i think there is a 20k Fine if released before the day, now midnight release may be an option but i doubt it at least not at EB in ontario.

I was able to convince a friendly manager at a local gamestop to do a midnight release.

I went to many stores and had friendly conversations with people willing to help, but in all stores except gamestop, no one knew what I was talking about. Here's where I visited: 4 walmarts, 2 targets, 4 gamestops, 2 bestbuys. I was unable to convince any gamestop to sell it to me before weds, so I settled for the second best option - the midnight release.

one of my buddies is a manager at the gamestop here, and he wouldn't lemme pick up my preorder early, told me he'd be in deep shit

he let me take a look at it though, collector's edition comes in a big ass box. :3

Well, I know Gamestop won't break the street date prematurely, but a midnight sale is legit and ok. The manager I talked to was just a nice guy and convinced one of his employees to show up and do it and there were only 5 pre-orders. He decided on the spot, so I don't believe the speculation about the regional manager being involved was necessarily true (at least in north texas).

Received a notice from Gamestop this afternoon..."Your Final Fantasy XIV PC order avail Wed AM"..So, I will have it on midnight here at Flushing, Queens.

Just left the Gamestop in Kings Plaza. I was soooo close to getting it. I got denied when she tried to sell it though. She called her manager to try to sell it to me too.

She was more pissed that she preordered the regular edition and didn't know about the CE.

I got my copy for the CE so if you want pics or extra info post here. Also the update was pretty short I was expecting a long ass update like the beta but then again almost nobody has the game to clutter the update servers.

Also, if anyone is able to confirm that that message means Midnight Release I would really appreciate it. They're not picking up the phones and I don't want to head there at 11 to find the place closed. ><;

I got that too I thought it meant in the morning too... I called GS and they said no midnight release too.

Best Buy looks like it won't be getting their copies in until sometime tomorrow. Most stores are only getting 2 - 4 copies as well, half of which are already pre-ordered.

Was hoping someone would "Accidently" put it out with the Tuesday releases, and I could get my game today, but no dice. Also, went to Wal-Mart and asked if they had it, and apparently they also got 4 copies, and they sold them all by 4 PM, despite it coming out tomorrow. >.> At least I have two copies pre-ordered at Gamestop as my back up and I'll just have to go there tomorrow morning. This is going to be the longest night ever. Y~Y
