    Occult Acumen Testing

From the initial testing, it seems like the amount of tp you gain from casting is based on the MP cost instead of the tier of the spell.

For example, I got 9 tp return from water III which cost 98 mp to cast. Got 3 tp from Drain II which cost 36 mp to cast. Got 8 tp from Thunder II which cost 86 mp to cast. Got 4 tp from stone II which cost 43 mp to cast. Got 3 tp from bio II as well.

You guys can test it more but that's the initial finding. I am not sure if store tp effects it anymore as I am /sam and the tp gain stays consistent with the MP cost/10.

    Interesting nonetheless.

Doesn't change it's worth. But thanks for the results.

its still nice as a side bonus. won't change my DD habits of course, but gaining tp by draining/aspiring/stunning like i do all the time anyways is a nice boon.

edit: side note, you guys played with herculean slash/infernal scythe yet? I only tried IS out, but the damage went up by 120ish or so, so something changed. str and attack don't affect it still, but i'd be interested in seeing what is different.

Have you done any testing with Dark Arts?

I'm curious if the spell cost reduction affects the TP return, or if it's always calculated on the base-cost of the spell. Naturally this won't affect any spells that cost under 100 MP but still.

i haven't mainly because OUR FUCKING DRAINS ARE NERFED TO SHIT. argh. got 80-85 on worms in la theine tonight, and drains were doing 23-70, and a whopping 150 with dark seal + nether void. I pray that's one of the fixes this emergency patch is about. I know they'll fix it eventually, but my DRK is kind of on the sidelines until this is fixed.

I went from 320 to 440, so its probably 1.375 now.

I haven't had any issues with drains, standard nigh-600s NV Drain 2 on Sky dolls all day, those worms are probably just darkness resistant. Makes sense as it prevents Drain/Aspir abuse by manaburners on them.

My Herculean Slash damage is around 500-550 with my hurfdurf set. Up from about 300-350 I think?

Probably have to strike this, I found the screenshots of my first few and they were more like 290-295 with the same set I got 440 with today, and the 315-320s were after I set it to use my Spiral Hell / Spinning Slash set (main box died, rewrote spellcast for backup box, left this part out). 1.5 does sound about right then.

It had a 2.25 multiplier prior to update, so it can't be 1.5. 3.375 (which is a 50% increase, same as your 1 to 1.5 figure) fits the above numbers somewhat well, though at the moment that's just speculation. Without knowing level, VIT, MAB and exact damage nothing can be said with complete certainty.

Stupid question, but were you casting drain before anyone attacked? If they're anything like other worms, they can cast stoneskin on themselves. <,<

Sorta what I meant, they multiplied it up 50%. Its 3am and I don't even care to know what Infernal Scythe's fTP is or ever was really, it still sucks

once or twice i can see it, but no. I must've drained or attempted at least, 30 times or so. Had another DRK with me in that party with the same issues. I've never had problems draining the worms before, so the problem is either a glitch on DRK's side, or the worms got a wtfstrong dark resistance all of a sudden.
