    Not too bad.

Hmm, would it continue to hold it's stability that high?

Yes of course, you'll have to run stress tests to make sure, but you shouldn't have any trouble running stable at 3.9ish.

Sweet. How about cooling, I won't need to move into water cooling yet will I? lol
Extra info you may need to answer this.

It stays around 60~65 in my home. Colder in winter, I'd say about 40~50 degrees then.
    Antec Twelve Hundred case.
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler (I'll be removing the thermal compound on it and using Arctic Silver Ceramique.

Holy crap, 60-65f ambients in the summer. I don't think you're going to need to worry about temps as long as you have your cooler mounted correctly. Antec 300>1200 now? I thought you were only spending 700 on this rig hahaha.

Yes, 300 > 1200 >.> I was intending on a $700 rig which I would have already but I figured I'm better waiting until the 8th of October to get somehing better. :3

Yeah I figured a full case would be best. Plus blue LED's will match my Eclipse II keyboard. :3

[Edit] - Never thought to ask, will I need to get a sound card? My mobo comes with a Realtek ALC892 audio chipset. Offcial minimum for sound card is DirectSound compatible sound card (DirectX 9.0c or higher).

if your motherboard was built by a reputable company in the last 5 years you do not need a sound card

Ok good! Forgot all about sound and had an "ohcrap" moment when I remembered.

Not too shabby on the score. I think I'm going to be quite pleased with this build. Now it's just a matter of ordering everything and getting it all put together.lol

Bump - Thought I was going to be able to leave you all alone but I'm back with a couple more questions. :3

Phenom II X6 1090T BE @ 3.4GHz. (Not 100% sure if XIV even uses up to 6 cores)
    Or
    Intel i7-930 Bloomfield @ 2.8GHz.
(I'd overclock either one so take that into mind)

Which would best perform on XIV coupled with a HD 5850? (I had plans to upgrade my GPU sometime down the line.)

I'd jump on a better card but I'm not ready to spend $500+ on just a GPU.lol

[Edit] - Damnit forgot about the Random question thread.

FFXIV is using 6 cores. The processor with higher speed/cores will perform better always (unless the game doesn't put a load on them).
