Are the Bastion NPCs located outside the entrance/outpost?
They are located at the 00 Teleport. The entrance camp is 01 Teleport. Teleport 00 is automatically activated.
disassembler 2278 / 455 / 227 (did like 100 damage, took 200)
disassembler 1944 / 388 / 194
disassembler 25 xp / 5 cruor / 2 credits (did plenty of damage but ran away after eating homing missile)
custodian 1212 / 242 / 121 (barely hit it)
custodian 1983 / 396 / 198
with squid sushi, 2x major attack atma, and stats+20 thf81 was above 1.0 attack/defense ratio. i ate a ton of homing missiles though.
very fast and very good. figure out how to make battles last longer, bg. maybe hold mobs away from the protective field thingies.
Unlike campaign forts, Bastion defenses (for now at least) seem extremely weak. And so hanging out until the mobs focus on them to pick them off seems impractical. Bastion may be better suited for something like they had tried to do with Besieged where players intercept the enemies. Maybe you could even just wait at a trap or one of the verges and pull a mob out? I'll have to try it if I ever have enough visitant time.
How tough are these mobs could a Pld and a couple of support potentially hold a wave like campaign?
Right now there only seem to be 3 types of Bastion Ops quests available, 2 tiers of each 3.
+Ward Warden I/II (Attohwa) Client: Resistance Sapper (Central
Outpost, Abyssea - Attohwa)
Summary:
It is imperative that the pulse martello
and the clone wards are kept in prime
condition. This operation requires you
to transport the necessary repair
materials from the stockpile, using the
enchanted sack provided. Be mindful
that the sack does not rupture in the
process.
+Desert Rain I/II (Attohwa) Client: Resistance Sapper (Central
Outpost, Abyssea - Attohwa)
Summary:
The continual defense of the pulse
martello has pushed our soldiers to
the brink of exhaustion. This
operation requires you to transport
ensorceled battle provisions from the
stockpile, using the enchanted sack
provided. Be mindful that the sack
does not rupture in the process.
+Crimson Carpet I/II (Attohwa) Client: Resistance Sapper (Central
Outpost, Abyssea - Attohwa)
Summary:
Enfeeblement traps have been laid
along the outpost's perimeter in order
to weaken would-be besiegers. This
operation requires you to infuse a
rear trap with paralysis trap fluid, its
energy source. Be mindful of your
distance from the trap when
performing the infusion.
Unless you don't wish to keep your sanity, avoid desert rain II. <.< fucking chocobo.
All the chocobo ones are a complete nightmare.
yeah best way to handle the mobs is to fight them far from the martello. they're very succeptable to sleep. my blm friend had no issues keeping swarms of them sleeping for the full duration. even my nazuna was able to sleep most of them for the full duration.
So I solved the chocobos.
Buy the blinkers from the Chocobo girl. This dampens their aggro range extremely. I was able to finish ward warden II solo with 10 items on pack chocobo. Rose the Total HP of the martello I believe by about 14% and each of the wards gained about 50% more health. Blinkers make this much much easier. Atleast 2 will be enough to get past bats.
With 10 items
Curor: 200
R. Points: 50
Lil more Info
Healing
Glyshal Greens(50 cruor) - Heal 1% of chocobo health. (useless)
Azouph Greens(300 cruor) - Heal 5% of chocobo health.
Buffs
Speed Apple(100 cruor) - Makes them move a bit faster, wears off after 30 seconds.
Chocobo Blinkers(200 cruor) - Lowers aggro range drastically, wears off after 90 seconds.
I'm sure you can get plenty more packs onto the chocobo, I finished at around 22% of it's health. NPC also seemed upset that I brought the chocobo back in poor condition so that might have affected my rewards. Food gives it a temp food buff so you can't chain feed it healing greens. Think he can only have one of the extra buff items at a time. (Can't have speed apple and blinkers at the same time when I tried, didn't try others.)
Other observations:
The likelihood of attack raises approximately every 30 seconds goes from 69% to 70% in 30 seconds for a certain verge. Not sure if this ups as pulse martello hp increases.
Does the exp rates work similar to campaign? like a cap of x exp for curing?
And also does this require a lot of acc/what level can you start doing this effectively at?
Anyone see if campaign: items work?
no xp for curing, xp is on an enemy death basis, and dont even think about poking your head in there until 70+, the aoes are no joke and WILL destroy you. as it is, this has alot of refining to do before it's viable. at LEAST let the bastion npc sell dusty rr
had an iron giant attack just now, hit for around 250 to my 81 sam. had a move that ignored third eye and did around 700 dmg +slow+ bind + long duration terror (10 sec or so). definitely nasty mobs. i fear having to face the nm.
edit: it came again. it's name is "overseer" so i think it's the head honcho of the enemy forces. Used two additional moves: a backhand with its offhand thats a wide conal attack+knockback, and a spinning move with its sword that does heavy aoe damage. These things are ugly
I actually like bastion, if you don't have a lot of time to play you can earn a quick 10-20k exp just by dicking around.
I wish the battles lasted longer, in groups the mobs are just nasty, currently 6k/9k for my daybreak souls, -.- cant wait until I'm done with this trial.
I've since set my HP in Jeuno, I always pick up an instant reraise and instant warp and when I do bastion I always pick up both, one to get a quick way back, and two I'm usually sam/dnc for survival reasons.
Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut about the Ward Warden.
Things keep going
Single yob does Ward Warden
Mobs come curbstomp and nobody gets much rewards
repeat
Maybe what should be done is Desert Rain to let the npcs survive?
Or have an alliance time their turn in of Ward Warden so it boosts the defenses to the point they can stand up to an assault?
whats hurting is the npcs are weak as shit, and aoe spammage is unreal. whoever decided fucking chariots/gears was a good idea with their aoe spam and status effects needs to be shot in the ass.
that, and the NPCs always -ga right on top of the martello that starts at like 4% health, then a chariot runs to kill the NPC, AoE's and ends the battle in 2 seconds.
