I usually get hefty standing at (X-1).8, on level ground. 2 yalms >> 1.8 distance.

I've managed to get up to about 380ish from a single mob as a level 37 whm. Just ignore the mobs themselves and cure/buff the NPCs. As long as kills get made it's not too hard to get decent xp from bastion as a low level mage, just be prepared to eat dirt a fair bit since NPCs dont hold hate for shit.

I think that exp gained is calculated on every action you make, not just aggressive action on mobs. Usually when i get flagged for Bastion i cast Misery + Auspice on myself and sometimes a mob dies immediately after that and i get exp just for that.
Probably every spell/attack/damage taken counts towards exp and credits, then when a mob dies >> profit.

    So...uh

Anyone know how bard songs are for this? Did SE keep them nerfed ala camapign or do our spells actually count for some exp?

Horde the mobs at the trap, then run to the group and spam elegy on the chariots the sheep are attacking on top of the martello. Yields good xp until the aoe destroys the martello.

I've had reasonably good luck sleeping/gravitying as 81 SCH (my enfeeble set is above average). With Atma of the Heavens (+4 damage magian staves), I was able to take out the detectors with 3 tier4s and 1 tier3. My DNC partner switched to BLM when it became obvious he wasn't getting anything that way.

If you get a wave without mobs that are immune to sleep, 2 people can pretty much hold them and sleep nuke them until they're dead. Since they don't retaliate when you're far away from the Martello, there's no need to buff with stoneskin or worry about curing after a convert. Even if the chariots get by you, it buys a lot of time for the people at the Martello.
do you get credits if none of the enemy mobs die? hard to get kills before the mobs make off with the core.

It is easy to get kills, that's the whole point. Sleepga them far away from the martello, grav one, sleep nuke it, repeat until the people at the martello lose.

    I've been doing it 1 = 1, 2 = 1.9, 3 = 2.8, 4 = 3.8, and get hefty every time

I've had as low as -0.5 from asked work for hefty, so there's a bit of leeway.

Has anyone tested whether doing Bastion resets lights?

I don't think it does. I had a friend from the linkshell disappear every so often and he was doing bastion while we were xp'ing. He was smart, XP'd fast and go this points for legs

Since nothing in-zone resets lights (only zoning out) I would say it would not reset lights.

Did it reset his xp? I think that's probably the more important question.

Definitely doesn't reset lights, was farming murexes for time between bastions for a friend who needed points and when we'd go back to the mobs after the battle our chests would be at the same level/rank/whatever.

Well early experiment showing doing Bastion doesn't reset xp . Will test more but seems good. We're xping, running for conflux, doing Bastion and then returned to our original mobs with no drop in xp.

Farmed around 18k Bastion points on SMN, mostly solo defending bastions, around 1k-2k per fight depending on the wave size. I'd just go whenever 2hr is ready, during EXP pt with LS, and perfect defence all the NPCs when the message of 100 yalms of distance comes up, pulled away chariots/earthmovers with avatars and kitted, NPCs would quickly dispatch all the crappy mobs, and I'd get credit for each kill, then move on the chariots/big mobs. I tried alot of methods until I came to the realization that the NPCs are really strong but fragile, Qiqirn/Mages NPCs can go through most mobs in 1-3mins if they are alive. Got enough points for all my legs AF, and 30 Daybreak Souls shards.
