So, we had what I considered a fairly successful Abyssea run in Misareaux (approximately 7 hours). We were fighting Colibri and basically popping lights of every kind. Pretty certain we had capped Amber lights after the first hour or so (worked on azure and pearl first) as we got several huge chests....
But we only got a total of 1 AF3 feet (RNG) the entire run. We were getting tons of augmented gear, scrolls, and gay big box temp items, but AF3 feet were nowhere to be found. Is there some kind of trick or were we just EXTREMELY unlucky?
Puks are terrible in Vunkerl. Oh god I don't want to go back there again. That whole zone is terrible for xp.
Likely already mentioned, but do the new Abyssea zones provide better mobs for skilling up? I got BLM and WAR to 85 in Tahrongi but skillups effectively came to a screeching halt around 315.
Has anyone notice the stat buffs from Crour increase and decrease? I had mine jump between 10~30 to each stat. Is it vary by day, moon phase or what?
Ah, that makes sense.
Anyone figured out how to trigger these quests at Joachim?

Has anyone been able to "kill an NM with its weakness" i.e. what SE included in the update notes? I'm assuming that means landing a killshot with a !! proc, but maybe that just means activating a weakness during the fight? I ask this because I've seen several testimonies throughout the new Abyssea threads of getting red !! procs but getting no key items as a result. (Or maybe the two subjects are completely unrelated?)
Joachim gave me First Contact when I talked to him, after the CS for Scars. I had killed the 3 quest bosses though, so it may be that you need to do that. An Officer and a Pirate is done by talking to the stone circle at night, then talking to Joachim again finishes it and starts Heart of Madness.
So, I dont know if its coincidence, or what...but maybe its worth keeping an eye on.
30 minutes of gold pyxis lead to temp items, in all of em...some of us were getting agitated of course. Core 07 (Treasure core) was returned, and the next 5 gold yielded non-temp items. I hadnt checked if 07 was taken prior to the unlucky streak, because it didnt seem relevant, but I do know 07 is still active and we've yet to get temp items from gold.
Speaking of those quests, I just did First Contact and An Officer and a Pirate, and Joachim said something else when I talked to him after that, but no clear direction of where to go next. Anyone know what to do next?
