Restat gives you a percent of each stat back; so if you only put into one stat you're not going to get much back.

I'm impressed that the game only crashed once for me out of the 10 or so hours I spent playing last night/today, seems they're fixing these issues quite quickly in those small patches, or I got lucky.
I saw someone mention they bought the bronze knuckle from a bazar. I've been trying to make those, but I cannot make the Buffalo Leather Strap @ Rk 10 Tanner ( Buffalo hide + 10 Wind shards). Anyone knows the level requirement? Also leathercraft is a pain to skill up, I couldn't find cheap mats off NPCs so I farmed tons of sheeps in Limsa while levelling archer, lancer and gladiator to level 6...
Wondering if people saw the Rk 9 Leather Himantes either? One ingredient doesn't have a recipe on online databases ( buffalo leather knuckle guards).
Is the minimum level you can attempt a recipe known? For ex. I cannot attempt Buffalo leather strap @ 10, it means it is level 26+ like in FF11?
Haha this thread name, that's exactly what i did. I cancelled my whole summer vacation to enjoy it on the 22nd of ...september ^^
AFAIK, there is no cap to skill gains but, they do go down as you rank up. With alchemist I did Distilled Water to R.8 before I felt the skill gains were too low. I started out getting ~250/synth at R.1-2 and by R.8 they had dropped to 100~130. I'm currently working on Leather myself to try making Buffalo Leather Strap(Ochre) to put into Bronze Labrys synths, but thats a ways off as I need to do Carpenter as well for an Ash Axe Haft. Check around bazaars, I;ve seen a lot of Buffalo Leather Straps on Lindblum tonight in the Ul'Dah areas.
whats the class/abil to regen mp?
afk and left ff14 on for 20~ hr, didnt DC
is there a way to respond to tells without retyping the persons full name?
none
Space Bar will make the chatbox active, kinda hoping they remove the useless step to make it FFXI-like.
Not to mention you kind of need to actually send a tell by typing full name before CTRL+R works.
i did the math a bit back, we got like 7 zones, seems they use a different format in 14. 1 zone = 4, thanalan is a pure example. n/e/s/w all in 1 map. 11 pre zilart/pre na release, had 67 zones including the bc's and boat zones. so here we got maybe 15-20 tops? also not including 1 zone havin 5 maps. so taking that in reference, there is a shit ton not released, including alot of the ui/chat/search/whatever else. so back to your question and my response. (before people bitch se sucks and calling me a defender..) there will be most likely alot more at launch or within the months following. sit tight.
Can someone explain the levequest thing to me more clearly?
- For regional what happens if you do 4 on day 1, then 4 on day 2, do you get 4 back on day 3? or do you get all 8 back on day3?
- Can you always repeat low level quests or even the my first adventure quest? or once you complete it / trade it for another it is forever gone?
Stupid question is stupid. Can you do multiple story quests on one character? If not how do you switch?
@Ruin 1. You get all 8 back on a set time (same for everyone on the server)
2. Uh... I think you can redo it an unlimited amount of time.
@Johndile That's the kind of thing you can't find out before release. :/
1 region = 4 zones in XI (n/e/s/w) plus the city being 1, perhaps 2 zones, as well as dungeons (each region seems to have... 2? dungeons), so about 8~ "zones" per region.
5 regions initially, so let's say ~40 "zones" for the beginning of vanilla. 5 more zones will be in the .dats, which are released later on, however before the first expansion. If every unreleased region has let's say 5-6 "zones", vanilla XIV has around 60~ "zones" total before the first expansion is released.
The size is pretty good imo, but the content is more important. I'm sure within a year and half the game will be quite fleshed out. Everyone can determine when it'd be worthwhile to start playing. Start of vanilla will be quite barren, I guess.
