It doesn't seem to be a % and it does seem to increase with rank:
Base Goldsmith (didn't change with leveling up):
Craftmanship: 12
Mag. Craftmanship: 10
Control: 8
Rank 1 w/ Gloves:
18
16
9
Rank 2 w/ Gloves:
19
17
9
Yeah, it moved from Gathering+6 to Gathering+7 when I ranked up as a Fisher.
I wonder at which point it will stop to keep itself balanced with higher gear... Asuran Armguards are already better than anything I've come across for any class.
I just hit rank 3 Goldsmith and there was no change with or without the gloves.
Also since these items do not show there buffs on the item tool tip and in dats the goggles dont show anything either same as helm and gloves. So im thinking it may not use charges and just stops working at a set level.
rank 3 pug and no increase from rank 2 at 3 attack
Has anyone else noticed that in all the starter quests, you're given 1000 gil when the NPC says 100? >_>
Phy 4 pug rank 4 still at 3
also if you still without a shield and want one /tell Felix Klein in grid
Finally found someone selling Bronze Labrys on Lindblum, 150k for NQ, 200k for +1, 300k for +2(might have been a +3.) I had to settle for the NQ, after I finally caught up with them. Now, to test it out compared to weathered.
So looks like the armguards are all figured out:
+3 mainhand and offhand attack for any level
+5 mainhand and offhand potency for any level
+6 gathering on gathering jobs at lvl1, +7 gathering on gathering jobs at lvl2+
+6 craftsmanship/magic craftsmanship at lvl1, +7 at lvl2+
They're the only gloves with gathering on them that we know of (other ones have output) so quite the potential item for gatherers if gathering ends up being desirable.
Only thing left to test is if the bonuses start decreasing at a certain lvl.
It's getting to that depressing point where everyone is bazaaring nice Rank 30+ gear for cheap.
Velveteen Scarf (Black) is hot.
Random question: does anyone have any experience with what rank/level gathering class it takes to see Rank~30 Fieldcraft leves show up?
Since the skill points/XP gain decreases as your rank goes up, I've begun to compile a list to approximate the level of recipes in relation with each other. I'm not completely certain the normal range of SP/XP you should be getting when crafting items that are appropriate for your current rank (I assume it's around 180-200).
I've also thought about using the degree of difficulty in crafting an item as a measure, but decided to scrap that since I've gotten lucky with stuff that are suppose to be above my rank as well as crappy luck with things that are way below.
only if i could find a cheap lance/h2h. seen bronze knuckles for 100k when everyone else selling them for 300k of course i was on my second char who had almost no money
Well on Saronia I haven't even seen anyone with anything but level 1 weapons (except for the bow you can buy fron NPC). Wasn't a wise choise to make a char to one of the newer, lower population servers.
On Figaro, where I have my other char with nothing but Pugilist leveled, I've seen lots of higher level stuff, but of course, not a single H2H weapon.
yea weapon making is pretty crazy. I doubt it will change either. As it stands you need to have 15 leather to make the buffalo leather straps to make half the weapons, or fish glue to make the other(alchemy lv 10-12ish). After that part is over, you need 12-14 blacksmithing to have a decent chance at making any of the lv 9-11 weapons. The buffalo leather is just stupid. That's the tier 3 'skin' for leather craft and it's used for making 2nd tier weapons. I guess their thing is to avoid the market from being flooded with new weapons at launch. Personally I saw some buffalo leather straps for sale and picked up 3 of them(15k each). I have yet to run to gridania to pick up some buffalo leather to make the lv 11 knuckles though. Hoping my 13 blacksmithing will cut it.
Also, they need to allow eyewear/masks/covers to be worn with hoods.
Full Mask or scarf with a hood would look pretty sweet.
This. That was my big OMG WTF R U SRS RITE NAO? No reason you can't wear eyewear or a circlet with your cowl. Mask should be allowed to, but since they favor DoW class I can sorta understand. Cowls get some good defense for taking up two slots, but still. It just seems lazy in my eyes. Make circlets not give a lot of defense and just boost stats?
Yeah I equipped a cowl with my eyepatch and thought I'd get to keep both and look badass, but for my disappointment, I didn't.
