A friend told me all cpus aren't the same, and some may run hotter than others, but I did a little research and from what I've read, most people run 35-40idle MAX, and under 50C on load stock.
After trouble shooting for a few days what was wrong with the rig(turned out to be my 480), I really didn't wanna play around anymore for a while with it. Such a pain in the ass pulling shit apart. Not to mention that using the coolermaster hyper 212 plus, you need to pull the motherboard off the case to get the bracket on there. I wired tied everything up so it was all pretty, so I'm just lacking motivation to get it done. I'll probably get around to it this weekend since XIV launches next week.
Also noticed that the coolermaster heatsink sits not JUST on the cpu, but the metal frame around it(the one that locks it down). So that might be the problem, however if it were I'd probably have seen a lot more posts about it. The contact point between the heatsink and the cpu is just too big it seems, not sure if I need to tighten it down some more or not... it's already on there VERY tight.
