(Ghosts are so damn cute in this game, and they drop a bunch of weaving materials)
It's weird that a firefly would drop wind shards.
So where in the game is best for wind shards, La Noscea? Because I got barely any in Thanalan.

Can't say I like the ghosts in this game. They should be scary and difficult to kill, not cute and easy EXP. Everyone feared the ghosts in XI.

Hopefully the Hermes Sandals aren't a gift similar to the Mog Satchel and WoW's Core Hound pet. (They're revoked when you unsubscribe the service and given back when you resubscribe (attach in WoW's case for the security token.))

I think the shoes will be a huge help for shit like logging and mining where you're doing a lot of running.

Hell with the high probability of no chocos/airship at launch, the sandals will be sweet for just running around in general. But I really can't see them giving you a boost EVERYWHERE. It just seems too OP. I'm guessing they'll activate only in cities or something.

what? the mog satchel isn't revoked when you remove your token, or for any other reason. once you link an account to a token all that account's characters will have a mog satchel for the rest of time.

Really? I haven't played in a while. For some reason I thought they revoked access to the mog satchel if you unlinked your security token. Well nevermind then. I guess its only WoW that does this.

I think the correlation between wind shards and what that drops them is that they are generally flying/winged creatures.

While La Noscea's abundant Puk Hatchlings are great for farming wind shards (if they aren't swarmed by players), I've found quite a few isolated dead-end areas in Thanalan full of super-easy Syrphid Swarms (usually accompanied by unaggressive Lead Coblyns) that are just as awesome for farming loads of wind shards (and Syrphid Basket fishing bait :3). They are probably similar in level to the Puk Hatchlings, but a lot less known by the average player. Their normal attacks can proc a "TP Bleed" effect... though, not a terribly big deal if they con blue.

Fireflies don't actually contain fire in their bellies anyway. It is just bio-luminescence. Which is why they're glowing green and not fire red. Also, green is the color of wind shards.

Oohh shit, thanks. First time I've experienced it. Is it even worthwhile repairing the lvl 1 items? I just reached rank 9 Marauder.
Thanks and sorry for the random questions.

Yellow: Something you're wearing is at 50% durability or lower.
Red: Something you're wearing is at 25% durability or lower.

Note: Simple-Repairs will not repair accessories (earrings/necklaces/rings/bracelets). If it stays this way, Goldsmiths will be pretty sought after.

You will notice that there's pretty much an equivalent to every "Weathered" weapon/tool, usually "Bronze" that people tend to not bother with. I recommend upgrading to these when you can because their durability is much better. Weathered shit wears out quick.

So here's a question which I don't think I've seen answered yet. If I do a leve for PUG marks as MRD, and change to PUG before checking the node that spawns to collect my reward, will I still get the PUG marks? Or, would I have to maybe, kill the last mob, or complete the whole leve as PUG?

Gridania as my starting city is starting to seem less appealing every day... But that's where Carpenter's guild is.

I initiated a leve without being the proper class then switched to collect the reward and I received zero. I wonder if you start and end with the proper class then you will get it?

It'd take some higher ranks (13~15 for a melee class maybe) to go farming out in The Black Shroud for wind aetheryte. I recommend Emerald Bee Swarms if you can find where they mostly are... I want to say they are north of Camp Emerald Moss, past the notorious Lone Wolves, lol.

There are bee swarms near emerald moss that would also drop wind shards. Also, I don't think the guild being there will benefit much over other towns, unless they change the vendor layout to exclude a shop for each guild in every town. The only benefit I can really see is being able to get 3 tiers of support from the guild NPC, as opposed to only mid-tier from the repairs NPC. By the time you acquire enough guild marks to purchase the abilities you will likely have gone to both other cities already for leves anyway.

Yes, there is 2-3 spawns by the river just passed where the first few lone wolves pop.
