The problem is my Physical level is going to be fairly high despite my PGL, GLA, etc being 1. Is this going to horribly upset the balance of partying for us as I will be tearing through everything with high Physical level stats while she struggles to keep up/skill up, or are Rank 1 jobs nerfed with the amount of points you can add to level the playing field?
All that will happen is that you will get less physical experience from the mobs as opposed to her. She'll get like 500 and you maybe 150. That was just an example btw.

I think the quest is pretty clear. People just need to l2read the text. Had a few friends from WoW starting playing this and skip all the text thinking its not important. Then they ask "Wheres the ! and ? that tells me who to talk to next?"

You could just not assign any of your stats until she levels up too.

put every single point into VIT as you level physical then, you won't do more damage than your partner but you will always be the last one standing. reallocating at high level is easy too, you get back a lot of points at once.

Afair you don't get a message that you got a new ability too, so they could adjust that (but my memory might be bad too )

Probably wouldn't even need to reallocate, just increase everything else and leave VIT alone for a long while (depending on class, of course).

    Nah, you do.

But still, people not knowing Conjurer has a MP recovering ability at level 1 is pretty bad.

They do inform you that you have the new ability, it displays in the chat log. What they could do however is make the dropdown for class auto-select to the class you are on when you go to Actions & Traits. When I first started I didn't notice that it was a dropdown and so I went like 5 ranks before I even knew I had other actions (missed the text in the chatbox at level up)

Yeah, a lot of people in my LS did that too. Or they saw they got the skills in the log, but had no idea how to access them.

Does anyone else feel like they have to level up all the crafts to do well?

It is going to feel like that until there is a decent market system. If there is no way to buy the pieces you need (and for a reasonable price) then it is going to feel like you have to do it all yourself. Also, without a decent d.box or linkshell bank system it will be hard to share mats between friends/linkshell unless people are online all the time.

So when I first started playing the game all I did was play DoM. Next thing I knew I had all this canvas gear I could not repair. The dang canvas robe was costing me like 11k to repair. To make things worst it go to the point where the totally durability of the robe was like 9,000! I would of been better off with that dang Hempen Coif that I could repair! So now I am thinking Ill just level up my crafting and my combat classes at the same rate. Furthermore I will be leveling all the crafting classes. I think I will be at level 10 forever!

Damn a game that doesn't explain shit, and if ur not intently staring at the log when u turn in the first quest u would never realize.. Since u have to go into a menu and pull down another menu just to see ur abilities. Ya, damn those ppl for not looking through 3 diff menus and figuring out u need to pull down an additional menu since it doesn't default to ur current class

I figured I'd show you how stupid your comment actually sounds when explained, but it seems you are actually thick and not just being momentarily stupid.

Sad thing is, there is a beta manual on the beta site, that kinda explains a LOT of stuff. Reading through that, and looking over a few threads would answer 90% of the questions out there. People are just lazy and would rather post and be spoon fed the answers.

BTW, got the crafting bug again, and let me tell you crafting is 100x faster with hardware mouse. Holy Moly.

Oh. You're all overreacting on each side.

It's not /that/ complicated to figure out. I didn't get it till like.... rank 3 either. But I'm not all that upset over it. It was simple enough to get. And yes, it could be a tiny bit simpler. But I'm sure everyone is capable of figuring it out shortly after picking up the game on their own, not to mention if they ask someone around them for help (b/c, I honestly believe this, stuff like this gets people to talk some. Which isn't entirely bad, so long as the problem itself isn't overbearing.) Stuff should be explained some, but it doesn't require a glowing ? or ! either.

As for your low level cloth robes, were they really 11k to repair? Most of my stuff has been npc repaired for just 100gil so far, even at pretty low levels of durability. It was really annoying when it could only be auto-repaired up to 50%, but I'm ok with 75% for now, while I get around to working on my crafting. I hear you on the lv 10 forever though.... there's so much stuff to get around to doing.

Edit for the post above mine: The beta manual would answer some stuff, but it also has some /really/ awful answers.... I have no idea why SE even bothered putting some in. I quoted one earlier, but it was like "you'll only find out if you try". Except it wasn't that. It was much much worse than that. I'd go find it but I'm mostly working on something else atm.
