Ehhh...There's some stuff in there that doesn't come out until Book 4 and then Book 7 but I don't know if it is anything you would consider major spoilers. Most of it can be guessed at after the end of Book 1 I guess but it doesn't become canon until later.

Checked with Amazon and my order was delayed by a week(no big surprise there). I was surprised to see ToM is the #3 bestseller in all books though. I didn't think that many people still read WoT but I guess once you've started it is tough to let go.

Idk if anyone mentioned it here but Tor wasn't going to release the eBook version until Oct 2011. Sanderson managed to get that pushed up to February '11.

holy shit i'm literally salivating with anticipating of Perrin's army vs whitecloaks, this is the first Perrin plotline since battle of two rivers i actually can't wait to read

or maybe Galad will spot Morgase and the plotline will end up sucking like all the others with Perrin... bleh

I was disappointed when Graendal turned out to be alive after all. Thought that was dumb.

I wish that Perrin would stop being so goddamned emo about being the leader. He is so whiny and complains constantly. I hope that he gets over this before too long but the confrontation with the Whitecloaks seems to be dragged out endlessly. I don't understand why he keeps thinking he can send the people from Two Rivers back to Two Rivers to be farmers just as the Last Battle is about to happen. Obviously people can't go back to being farmers or tradespeople, they've got to go fight. He constantly wants to split up his group into little bunches and send them to "where they belong". He's been this annoying for so many books now when, up til when he rescued Faile in the Stone of Tear, he used to be my favourite character.

I don't know why Egwene has suddenly decided she stands above the Dragon Reborn just because she's the Amyrlin. It's really stupid. Plus, I don't see how she didn't realise the Wise Ones never said they were against Rand's plan of breaking the seals, just that they were concerned. I'm sure that'll turn up again. Does she really think that if she stops him from breaking the seals that there will not be a Last Battle or that it will be better some what?

Finally, what on earth does Lan think he's going to accomplish? So silly to just abandon his wife and go trotting off to the Borderlands to fight some battle he knows he'll die in. I totally believe he dies too. Glad that Nynaeve finally got his bond (that was last bit I read) but it doesn't make sense for her to live much past Lan so she'll probably die too.

Thank god Rand is finally cool.

I'm glad that the series is finally stopping the separation of soldiers, refugees, and farmers. It seemed to me before this book everyone was in one group or another and there wasn't any overlap. All these big armies were all over the place but no one really said where the soldiers came from, just that they were soldiers. And several characters in the book, mainly Rand, Mat, and Perrin, kept insisting that the farmers should go be farmers and not fight and that they had to rescue the refugees with their personal armies. We're finally starting to see a mixing of the groups which seems more realistic to me. I would think that in this kind of war that everyone would be fighters.

There seems just... Wayyyyy too much left for one book. Like one title, that's 2 parts maybe, or a freaking massive book. The bit with the Tower did seem a bit rushed, but worthy. Actually saying Noal was Jasin was pretty awesome, even if we knew it, Moirane back awesome, but I don't see it as next book being "OK, got you all together, off we go to fight~ There's just... So much.

...and the worst part about the next book that I'm feeling in my gut is that its gonna be very "Return of the King"ish. Actual story ends like 2/3rds in and we get the hobbits staring at each other over the table for 30 pages. Thats a worst case scenario, but god it scares me.

On the plus side, it could be 30 pages of Mat/Tuon having a loverspat and it consuming several continents.
