Will my PC run GTA 4? If so what settings?

Hey, i got GTA 4 for xbox 360 on release date a while ago and i kinda wanna play it on PC so will my PC run it ? specs: Intel core i5 M430, 4 GBs RAM, ATI radeon HD mobility 5470, and my OS is win7. thanks guys ...BTW im planning on buying it at EB games on disc sooo.. jus keep that in mind lol.

This is a handy little website that will tell you if you can run a game at minimum and recommended specs, and if not will give you a recommendations on what you should upgrade.

Just pick your game from the drop down box and have at it.

Go to the website in Internet Explorer though, Firefox tends to not play nice.

I know it's not my place, but when you attempt to game with a laptop you go big or go home.

Yeah i use that site alot but all it really does is tell you if you meet tha reccomended specs which dosent at all garentee that it will even be playable cause i checked FFXIV on that site and it said i should be fine and after tha 24 hour beta download all i could see was a slideshow when i was playing it so i like to just try to ask people now. No problem, yeah I agree it is not 100% reliable.

When I am looking to play a game, I go through this general process...

Minimum: If your PC meets these specs, it WILL run, but your better off chewing on glass.

Recommended: If its meets these specs, double whatever your PC has and you will run it smoothly My main focus is usually CPU,RAM,VRAM

Yeah i meet everything and even exceed some stuff on gta 4 except my processor and video card don't meet recommended, and lets be honest who accualy wants to play on low settings on any game really, its amazing how horrible and different some games look on low.

Vertex Shader version 3.0 : 4.0 this is my video card it seems to meet all of those

CPU,RAM,VRAM are my core component concerns. CPU being first, VRAM second, and RAM third. You upgrade other components to accommodate the core components. If none of my core components even meet recommended, I don't even consider buying the game.

To be honest, having 1GB for dedicated VRAM is, at least to me, a standard today if you plan on PC gaming. I don't do it enough to care about pixel shader version and what not, all I look at is what memory it provides.

If you really wanna play a game like GTA I would either recommend a new laptop, build a desktop, or just go and play it on the xbox.

I suppose I'm a stickler for PC performance, if the PC doesn't run smooth as a hot knife through butter, I get upset.

Hahaha i feel ya im exacly tha same way man, i just get so pissed when im forced to play a game on my xbox then i see tha PC version and it like completey blows it away. Take dragon age origins for example if you compare tha PC version to tha xbox one you would be blown away in both graphics and gameplay mechanics ( luckily i am able to play dragon age smootly on this )

your ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 has 2.2 GB of dedicated memory?

This is new to me as I thought mobility-type video cards are for laptops and that they don't exceed 1 GB

Right-click your desktop>click Screen resolution>Click Advanced Settings

Hit Print Screen on your keyboard>open MS paint>Hit CRTL+V on your keyboard

Crop the pic like I did, and upload it to like photobucket.com or something and it will give you the HTML img code.

Why would you do this? Buy all the stuff and build it yourself, you'll save a LOT of money. If you've never put together a PC, look it up and learn how it works, it's very simple and is a handy skill to have and over the years you'll save yourself a ton of cash if you're the least bit interested in PC's/PC gaming.
