Anyone else watch Amazing Race last night?
It is very obvious why this show keeps winning the Emmys while Survivor gets shut out. This season of Amazing Race looks a lot more interesting than this season of Survivor.
Most of the dating couple teams are pretty uninteresting, but some of the others are memorable. The nerdy team finished really strong when I expected them to come in dead last. The Asian team was really funny. The Gilmour Girls team was surprisingly strong, I expected them to be first out. The tattoo team are a pair of dummies. I couldn't stand the team with the guy who swore constantly but then was amused they couldn't find the pit stop at all.
The watermelon face girl was pretty funny. I laughed every time they replayed that bit, then felt bad cause she did seem dazed and hurt. However, she was a trooper and was laughing about it by the end, so she took it with good graces.
I figure the beach volleyball team will be popular around here.
I was watching it waiting for Undercover boss to come on, however I was more interested in the football game. Pretty good start, and watching that woman get smacked with a watermelon again was classic.
Pretty good first episode to the Amazing Race.
Spoiler: show
NaOnka may be one of the most deplorable contestants I've ever seen on Survivor.
Why? I would've done the exact same thing against an individual of another alliance who placed their trust in some douchebag. It's a game, not a pity contest.
It's not what she did to get the clue, it's what she says about that and, well, everything else. Everything that comes out of her mouth is angry, spite-filled, and almost designed to be offensive. And while it's one thing to actually push a one-legged woman to the ground to get something you want, it's another thing to brag about it.
Repeat ad nauseum.Originally Posted by NaOnka
Naonka is terrible. Although it's to be expected because most reality shows cast their lone black woman as a massive bitch.
Funniest bit in Amazing Race last night was when Team Geek was in the cab in Accra telling the beggers through the window "Sir, I do not feel safe, sir".
Why is it always funny to watch North Americans be completely clueless in an over-populated city? They are every time the race goes to a big city in Africa, India, or Asia.

Just watched Survivor. That Ney person is an absolute crazy bitch. I hope she doesn't stay around just cause she's causing drama and that's interesting. Getting tired of the 'mad black woman' character on Survivor.
Amazing Race was awesome as always. Felt so bad for the Asian team. Nice ending though.
This season is very bland for both these shows, no one is watching anymore.
Still watching, just don't really have anything to post ;o
Watching last night, I'm really not sure why they didn't vote out Marty after the tie. I understand wanting to get rid of Kelly B, as she's going to get a lot of sympathy votes from the jury, but I don't know why they didn't get rid of Marty when they knew they knew they absolutely could. The immunity idol would have been gone; instead, Marty (who everyone realizes is a very calculating and manipulative player) is still around, and he still has an immunity idol. Kelly B could be gotten rid of at any point, particularly once it got to individual immunity and nobody wanted to go to the end with her. If Marty can sway Fabio with his chess grand master line, they can recruit Jane back to the fogie portion of the tribe, that's 4-4 and, with an immunity idol, they seem to have a shot at maintaining control of the tribe.
On the other side, Yve made a gigantic mistake by saying she was close to Marty and Jill; that was the opposite of the truth, Dan was the close one, Yve was on the outs. Had she played that up rather than what she said, she might very well still be in the game.
Fantastic episode last night.
I agree with you about voting out Marty. Now everybody sees the truth about who is really running the show.
Finally watched the last episode of Survivor off my DVR. We mostly fast forwarded through the talking bits. I am sure they used to run one reward challenge and one immunity challenge with a talky bit in between each episode, but it seems like the show is all talky bits now. The talky bits are very dull.
Yeah, I know, this season of Survivor is a complete bust. I've been watching Amazing Race though and it is still pretty good.
I just wanted to point out that when the Amazing Race went through New Orleans within a few weeks Hurricane Katrina hit the city. Then they went to the very city in Chile that was hit by that big earthquake last year.
Next week they're racing through Seoul, South Korea...
Will the curse continue?!
Getting rid of Brenda last week interested me a little bit. I'm hoping that they actually start strategizing from here on out, and the game becomes more strategic than it has been previously. It also seems like there's at least three people left in the game (Naonka, Dan, Kelly Purple) who have absolutely no chance of winning unless it's just those three in the finals. I'll be curious to see how the people who are actually playing the game (Jane, Sash, Benry, Holly) use those people to try to get to the end with a favorable lineup.
This season has been pretty good. There has been some genuinely challenging tasks, and most of the teams have at least some level of likability, although Nick's quitting annoyed me last episode. I'm wondering if he knew it was a non-elimination leg, and so he just quit in order to be done with the leg, betting on the fact there would be some sort of forced equalizer in the next leg. That might be giving him too much credit. They're clearly the weakest team left, though, I'm hoping one of the two all female teams wins it.Originally Posted by Aduidarnenye

I'm pissed they let quitters stay on the jury. If you quit the game, you shouldn't be on the jury, you probably shouldn't be on the reunion show. Your 15 minutes of fame should be over. On the plus side, the video on CBS.com from Ponderosa this week should be more interesting than last night's Gulliver's Travels advertisement was.
