In an interview I saw (think it was Charlie on some talkshow?), he said that Rob (Mac) wanted all of them to gain 50 pounds. It was supposed to be realism, as you never see people in these shows get fatter and older and lose hair. People on sitcoms always get better looking. Unfortunately the others were all "F U" so Rob was the only one that gained the weight.

I think it is fucking hilariously gross. The insulin was the best thing ever.
