So why is AI art bad? Is it taking away work from actual artists? If the purpose is to advertise, then why does it matter how it's made?

Because actual human people get paid to make art for advertisements.

    1) The AI steals real art from real artists in order to even do what it does. Its basically a plagiarizing machine.

    2) Its used in place of a real artists who isn't getting paid for the job now.

I could go on about the philosophical reason why replacing human artists with soulless machines trained on stolen artwork as well, you know, outsourcing the things that make us human to Tech algorithms, but I wont bore people with that. Suffice to say, AI slop is stolen asset replacing human jobs.

Also AI can only do art at all because it's been fed art styles from real artists who aren't compensated for it.
