From what I've seen on Google, it's supposed to be (for those that don't feel like doing it):

Catherine Tate, which makes no sense to me.

Something odd has to happen for her to be the best candidate since they seemed to be so incompetent. I really only know her from Donna Noble, but I really don't see her filling the void of Michael Scott.

of the guest stars, she is the only one that works because the others are all big names/known quantities here in the states, or are comitted to other projects already. Tate, to my knowledge, just ended her current show, so her slate is open, and she's not such a big name here as to be unaffordable. I disliked her character in the interview, but Jo did say something like if you can't find someone who clearly deserves it, give it to her, I think.

I thought the whole point was filling the void w/ a known comedic entity in the States who doesn't have movie prospects but could still fill Carrell's shoes. Not only was she not funny but I didnt even know who the fuck she was.

It's not like they hired some big name actor to play the Finger Lakes guy, its understandable that guy wouldn't know who he is.

If the spoiler is true, the new manager doesn't interest me much. She sounds like a bitch and her ascent is annoying. figured it would have been Will Arnett. As his character is smart but still quite dumb. I suppose his character is too much like Michael and the show is trying to take a new direction with the replacement.

Will Arnett's show will probably get canceled by the time they get to production on the next season anyways though.

I'm gonna laugh when that show gets cancelled within the first 13 ep order and office ratings plummet w/ a non Arnett replacement.

The problem with Ed Helms, is that if Hangover 2 does as well as the first he'd only be a stopgap measure until he leaves in turn.

In all honesty, and I may be being pessimistic about this, I can't see it continuing on much longer anyways.

Isn't it the highest rated scripted show on the network in all the key demos? lol

I have no idea what the numbers are like, just that general perception I've heard from people both online and irl has been that it is going downhill, and with Carell gone, I see it going down even faster. I know in popularity polls (which obviously aren't remotely objective) it has been beat consistently as of late. If it gets more than another season or two I would be very surprised.

I think the spaced out British chic would be an ok choice. The show can still be funny but we'll have to wait and see.

The episode w/ Dwight as boss was some of the funniest stuff they've done since S3 and parts of S5. Likewise w/ the Creed boss related stuff in this episode. If they find the right replacement the show can keep going forward. All they really need is Dwight (who seems kind of tired of the show) + the side characters and it should work fine.

Oh I'm sure it CAN be done, just that the stuff so far hasn't done much to make me hopeful.

I don't even know why you say that, the stuff in the last two episodes has been amazing, some of the funniest in a long long time.
