I can't say I really liked the episode, so I really hope they used this as a throwaway just to set up a few things and that it isn't indicative of how they'll handle the season. I'll spoiler my rant.

Is that really how Kelly was written out of the show? Lamex10. For all the work Kaling and Novak especially have put into the show they couldn't have come up with something better than that? For that matter, Ryan is gone just like that too. Even though I didn't like how "dumb hipster" he had become, he seemed to be way underused.

Anyone thinking that the "Philly Jim" storyline isn't how Jim and Pam's story ends I think are going to be in for a disappointment. It is an easy out, but I think could be something really fun for Jim's character to do. They've played with "Philly Jim" before, and I think it could be a good ending for both Pam and Jim. Could even have Carell come back and give Jim pointers on how to properly start a new business.

Needs a lot more of David Wallace. Like...he needs to be in every episode for the rest of the season. That character and Andy I think could achieve something similar to what Michael Scott and David Wallace had and I think that goes a long way toward making Andy a more suitable "replacement" in the long run.

The "new guys" are horrible. Please don't continue that storyline because it just comes off as a James Bond Jr. type of stupid. The only way I would be cool with them hanging around is if they interact solely with Toby or act in place of him now and then.

Just in glancing at the next few episodes...it seems Nellie's main role is to just be a bitch and try to break Erin/Andy up and force a big wedge between Jim/Pam. Not cool. If thats all shes going to be doing she has no use on the show. Get rid of her.

The Angela/Oscar/Senator/Dwight love square could be interesting, please continue that.

More David Wallace.

It's prolly too much to ask, but I think it would be neat (pending on how many documentary workers there are) if you find out each one ends up being involved in a significant way at certain points through the series. Like who was filming Roy before he attacked Jim? Who was smart enough to be there for Jim+Pam's kiss? Who tipped off Pam when Dwight was found eating the candybar Angela got from the vending machine?

I think thats all the complaints/criticisms I had.

Jim's entire character is that he's an above-average everyman stuck in a dead-end job and responding to characters that obviously belong in this dead-end job. Given how bad this show has been since Carell left I'm quite sure they're engineering a happy ending for him, but 1) there is nothing funny at all about him walking into his dream job and succeeding, and 2) it's ridiculously unrealistic and would strictly be for the benefit of saps who want a happy ending to the series.

Just caught up on these from 2 weeks ago.

Asian Jim is top 5 of Dwight pranks. That was just great. I also like the chess board banner for the final season.

I continue to love Darrell, and they don't use him anywhere near enough.

Sadly, I'm not liking much else. They're running out of episodes to really get a good closing connective story going and it just seems like they're trying to burn off half cocked ideas that they were never able to flesh out from earlier seasons.

Writers go through all the trouble to re-introduce Roy and his mystery fiance and give them all of 5 minutes. Theres got to be more of this down the road. Otherwise it's just poor writing and worse execution.

Do the new kids REALLY think they have any chance at Erin? I mean really? Their characters come off as 15 and just need to be rid of. They aren't doing anything at all. I'd rather have Ryan back just constantly promoting WUPFH. It's pretty obvious now that was entirely how they wanted to write Kelly out of the show, and I know Mindy Kaling is doing other things...but thats just lazy.

Nellie is even worse. She's there to annoy Andy but really interacts with him for 5 seconds in an episode. No plot building, no character building, just wasting space and valuable episode time.

They're sitting on a goldmine with Dwight/Angela/Oscar/the Senator and they gave 30 seconds to it. Isabel hasn't been used in a few seasons, lets see her again and piss Angela off.

So much they could do with Toby still too.

My fingers are crossed that Darrell gets taken into this Jim/Pam/Philly Jim story.

I really want to see at least one more REALLY good Creed moment before the seasons over.

If this is how they're going to treat this last season I wish they had found a way to wrap it up last year...this is not the same show even considering the overall "meh" feeling season 6-8 gave.

last night it hit me that Erin and Pam are doing different takes on the same story line. Both are in a relationship with a man that's out of town and both are getting rather close to a different male with implications of romance. Only difference is Pam is the dramatic take and Erin is the more comedic. Either way both storylines are flat to me and I hope they fix that soon =(.
