I think the whole situation with Jim and Pam is to show that they're not perfect. Until now they've been this "perfect couple" and they haven't really had any problems, and that's a bit unrealistic and boring. Not saying that it's a good idea or that it's being done in the right way, but I can see why the writers are doing this.

Brian is doing the same thing Jim did early on in the show. Brian sees Pam every day at work just like Jim and it seems Brian feel in love with Pam, just like Jim did. Or at least that is what it seem is happening. For all with know Brian, Pam and Jim have been friends for a while. PB&J: Pam, Brian and Jim.

In my opinion, this season is showing why the series ended last year.

Most of the storylines just seem patched on and lazy from the writers, like they're just there to get paid for 20 something episodes and be done with it. Noone is really in character anymore except Darryl.

A million different ways to introduce the camera crew and they do it this way about 5 or 6 episodes late. I know Ed Helms is prolly off filming a movie or two, but this boat trip thing is becoming lazy now. Ellie Kemper was a bright spot the past few seasons and she's flat now as well.

Can we just cut to Toby being the strangler, whatever patchwork excuse they make up for Carell not coming back for the finale, and have Jim + Pam ride off into the sunset and call it a series?

The major story lines this season have come out of the fact that Ed Helms and John Krasinski needed a lot of time away so they could film other things, not that I blame them for moving their careers forward. I also think the show suffers greatly with Mindy Kaling and B.J Novak being gone from the writing staff. While I do think it should have ended with season 7, there was a few great parts to season 8 and I'm still holding out that season 9 can end the series on a high note.

The last few years or so, the show has had the bad habit of introducing characters that bring down the entire tone. Holly, Robert California, the weird skinny dude(can't remember name), Will Ferrel's manager character and even Andy has become an unbearable person.

I didnt realize Bob Odenkirk would've been the best replacement for Carrel until I saw it tonight. I know he was supposed to be like Michael Scott but it was so funny to see again.

Aside from the love interest moments of dwight & jims lives, the episode was great. Andy being devastated by erin and her new man then the retaliation was amazing. The moments with gabe just took the cake and I even hate that character.

"I have shaved SO HARD for you." just made every shit scene with gabe in it amazing.

Have always hated Gabe. This was his best episode by far though, was fucking rolling.

This episode was supposed to be the spin-off pilot...but since NBC didn't pick the show up they cut the episode short. Here a quote from Rainn "Dwight" Wilson's FB page:

Tonight, THE FARM!

Office fans, tonight NBC is airing The Farm pilot as an episode of The Office.

It's a greatly truncated story right now (about 15 minutes of 'the farm' story and its' new characters with a 6 minute B plot set in the office) so you won't get the full effect of all the aspects of the pilot episode. About a 1/4 to 1/3 had to be trimmed and other scenes rearranged a bit.

We had to trim out several crucial elements of The Farm to adapt it into a regular old episode that fits into the arc of Dwight now that he's not leaving Dunder Mifflin for his own series with his family members.

That being said, I hope you enjoy tonight's episode, oddly mutated and assembled as it is. We worked long and hard on it and I think there was a lot of potential for a crazy but grounded rural TV show there.

NBC saw otherwise and wanted to stick with its current crop of comedies.

Best episode of the season so far, maybe top 3 of the past 2 seasons combined. Really enjoyed it. This is the creativity with storyline that has been missing from the entirety of the past 2 seasons.

Hope they include the entirety of "The Farm" on the DVD.
