Which means I'm also incredibly let down. The screen seems quite a bit larger than the originals so it's not going to be "retina" like improvements since the DPI isn't going to double also.

I think the screen is the same size as psp1?
Screen is a bit bigger now.

A bit scared at what the MSRP is going to be, I have a really hard time imagining Sony selling this $250-300, expecting at least $400 for this.
Do OLED panels still suck in sunlight or has that been fixed?
WHO FUCKING CALLED OLED SCREEN THATS RIGHT BITCHES. also i jizzed a little. I'm gonna so rub this in that gamestop girl's face....she didn't believe me when i said back touch-panels.....HAHAHAHA.
250-300 only thing im willing to spend. If that on a first Gen... knowing theres gonna be 1000s-2000s-3000s coming out. But if theres some fuckin awesome games supporting it and hacks to open it up. Ill give it an honest try.
I just read all the articles posted on kotaku a bit ago, and i have to say, holy shit. Regardless of price, I can't wait. I really think sony got it right with this one, or at least i'd like to hope.
Holy smokes, Sony always wins me on slickness with their designs.
How much over was the PSP from the DS at launch. ~$100 usds? With such specs, I don't see it being anything less than ~$300. Even then, I'm sure they'll be
making them at a huge loss. Furthermore, I hope to baby black Jesus that Sony learned from their previous business strategy and actually takes a loss in order to gain early market share.
They just can't afford to repeat the same DS vs PSP strategy (DS launches first and substantially cheaper). Wishful thinking, I know.
I just hope more developers take interest and adopt early. I love me some RPGs on such a great display. Although, with Nintendo being concerned about graphics too,
I'm sure we're bound to get some pretty great titles in a couple of years.
Kinda surprised at their choice of hardware; considering there are known exploits with the arm architecture...gonna predict this now, day1 hacks.
There's also the implication that it runs either modified android or some kinda android emulation? (or that any games released specifically for the PSP phone will ALSO see PSP2 releases, whole thing is worded funny).
It's like they just gave up on security.
I'm guessing $299 for the Wifi version and $399 for the 3G version. Whatever the case though, I will gladly hand over my money for this device. Day 1 buy.
Oh man I can't wait, design looks so much better. I'm sold!
How well will a $400 handheld system sell? Even at $300, that's still console price.
E3 can't come slow enough.
Considering this is supposed to have the power to literally take your console on the road, probably fairly well. As much as I have been traveling for work recently, if Sony can indeed deliver on the ability to take your PS3 games on the road with you, I will give them whatever they ask for.
I know I gave the 3DS shit cause of its price... But if this is anywhere in that price range - Day motherfucking 1. More so if T-Mo will be supporting the 3G on it.
That is definitely leaps and bounds over the PSP and enough new technology inside the beast to warrant its high price. It's a portable PS3... I don't even...

The entire handheld is sealed like an iPhone, so players will not be able to change the battery. The reason for this, Yoshida says, is because of the rear touch pad. It's apparently not possible to have a rear touch pad and changeable battery like on the current PSP-3000.That's retarded, hopefully there will be a workaround for that later on... sounds great otherwise though.
I was actually just about to make a comment about the battery, but not about that. They didn't mention anything about the battery life, did they? That kind of worries me. >.>
$300-$400 is most likely where the price will be, hopefully lower, but I doubt it.
Right, no mention of battery. Although the image of the XMB (guess they'll need a new name, actually) has a battery icon with a generic "1:23". If you want to talk to some trolls they'll be happy to tell you that's the "full" battery life.
Spoiler: show
A 5 to 10 hour battery life is better than nothing. Assuming that's what we'll get, then I'm fine with it.
