3G Price Drop, $200http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/11/se...ta-3g-for-200/A majority of the Sony stores across the US have dropped the price of the 3G-compatible PlayStation Vita, down to $199.97. The base 3G bundle includes the handheld, an 8GB memory card and a voucher for a free PlayStation Network game – if you sign up for data coverage, that is.
The image above comes from a Century City store in LA. Save for a couple of stores on the East Coast that had closed once we started hitting the phones, we called each and every Sony store location to confirm. An employee at the Denver location surmised this was a permanent price drop due to a discontinuation of the model and said there was no time frame on the sale in his system, which means Sony can end the sale whenever.
The New Jersey and Las Vegas locations also told me the 3G model was being discontinued, while an employee in Seattle said the sale would only last until Sunday. Other locations still had old pricing in their systems and had no idea what I was asking about – and Sony has yet to bring the price down online.
Last month, Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida told Joystiq a price drop for the PS Vita in North America wasn't happening, even though Sony had just announced it would lower the price in Japan.

Has anyone gotten the "PlayStation Vita 3G Bundle - 4GB with PlayStation Plus and Unit 13 Voucher" bundle yet? Thinking I may get that, but not sure about the 4gb memory card that's bundled with it is worth it starting out.
4GB is pretty useless imo. That bundle comes with 1 year of PS+ (which is $50), but costs $300...
I don't think it's a deal.
Well it's either $250 for base wifi + memory card price + a game or two altogether. Certainly don't want the Cod: Declassified bundle because of how horrible that game is.
I'd say get the one with the year psn+ subscription. I've heard Unit 13 is supposed to be a decent game for the Vita, but it's not my type of game. A year of psn+ is something like $60. But you will definitely need to get a new memory card unless you want to spend more timedownloading, redownloading and reinstalling games every single time you want to play more than 1 or two games at a time.
Either a 16 or 32gb card. I think I read somewhere, either on this thread or another here that best buy has 16gb for $30 right now.
If you already have psn+, I'd maybe consider getting the Ass Creed bundle. Though I'm not sure what that bundle comes with and I don't even know if the ass creed game is any good, but the Vita is white and white vita is much sexier than the fingerprint magnet black
and yeah, I'm not taking the 3G into account lol
I have no experience with it, but the majority of the time I actually play my Vita, its in a place where I can use simple wi-fi. I don't think I could justify a monthly fee on my vita.
3G vita is a waste of money imo. It's like AT&T 3G smart phones (ie can't DL stuff over 10gb unless on wifi) and the vita battery isn't awesome enough to justify the extra battery drain of the 3G.
4gb memory card is 100% worthless also.
I don't have psn+ right now so that's mostly why I'm considering that bundle right now. I may get the 16gb to start out and then switch to 32gb later on. I'm probably going to buy the games and accessories(mem card) first so I don't have to buy everything at once.
Usually amazon has the 32gb for 70-80. It's totally worth it for that if you can snag one for that price. 16gb card is really 14gb and 32 is really 29gb
I feel that Vita's 3G wasn't targeted at downloading large chunks of things (like, say, a big game or two) but rather it was meant to be for online play. This is an issue for many reasons obviously, but most notably: online features for pretty much every vita game have been absolutely horrendous so far.
That and most people have smartphones that they can just tether to anyways
