Side by side it's kinda noticeable, but it's not a bad screen by any stretch of the imagination. Reviews mentioning how much worse it is are greatly exaggerating it.

It's not something that will bother me in exchange for more battery life and it being quite a bit lighter.

Other random things for anyone who was wondering. Buttons are clickier, rounded edges make it a bit more comfortable imo.

Aside from the color tint/saturation that the reviews on the Web have noted, the LCD seems a bit sharper then the OLED.

How are they clickier exactly? Just less resistance to make them click in? That was probably the only thing I could have seen them even doing over the OG model's buttons, even though it never bothered me personally. Much preferred over the mushy buttons on my 3ds xl at any rate.

Slightly snappier response and maybe a little bit stiffer, also makes them a little more audible. But it's still not an actual click.

Though the feel of the buttons could be due to the fact that it's a brand new Vita vs a much older one.

Whelp, so much for considering a digital copy of BL2. 4985mb after DLC is added into the mix. Don't have the kind of space to reserve for that on my 32gb stick.

Toukiden Extreme’s New Weapons Adds Different Ways To Take On The Oni

We previously reported that Toukiden Extreme, the updated version of Tecmo Koei’s Vita and PSP hunting game, will have three new weapons—the Naginata, Kanabo, and the gun. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine shares more details, including some on new characters. (Thanks, Zaregoto.)



The first new character is named Soma, a Kanabo-wielder who is the captain of the third “Hundred Oni Corps”. Next up is Holo the gun-wielder, a mysterious young girl who seems to have lost her memories.



Unlike the spear, the Naginata will excel in pulling off combo attacks. It will also have a feature that allows wielders to ward off enemy hits.



The Kanabo, a spiked or knobbed club, won’t have much speed, but it’ll more than make up for it with its superior range and power. Hitting enemies with the tip of the Kanabo increases the damage output, and continuously doing so will make it go even higher for a certain amount of time. The Kanabo will also have a feature that lets you repel enemy attacks.



Finally, the gun has a neat feature that lets you get into stance to see the target’s weak spots, and shooting at them will increase its power. Gun-wielders will have access to several types of bullets, and will also be able to throw bombs. Shooting said bombs can have different effects depending on the type of bullet you use.



Finally, the Destroyer feature in Toukiden, that unleashed a powerful attack to defeat smaller enemies in a single blow or sever the body parts of larger ones, will be getting an upgrade, called “Extreme Destroyer,” which will let you destroy multiple body parts of the oni.



Toukiden Extreme will be released in Japan sometime in 2014 for PlayStation Vita and PSP.

Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus Coming To North America This Fall

Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is coming to North America, Xseed announced this morning. The game will be released as a downloadable title for the PlayStation Vita this Fall.



In addition to the download version, Xseed will produce a limited run of retail copies of the game, which will come with a soundtrack CD and “Shinobi Syllabus,” containing profiles of the game’s characters along with strategies and illustrations.



Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus takes place after Senran Kagura Burst and now features 20 playable characters. Here’s a story summary:



Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus immediately follows the events of Burst, revisiting the fierce rivalry between the girls of Hanzō National Academy and their sworn enemies from Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy, the latter of which have now gone underground and formed a mercenary strike team known as the Homura Crimson Squad. In addition to their old adversaries, the Hanzō girls must also face a whole new set of foes: the students of Gessen Girls’ Academy, who seek to punish them for their imperfections as shinobi warriors. Meanwhile, a new class is in session at Hebijo, and these students mean business: they oppose all three of the competing factions and will stop at nothing to be the last shinobi squad standing – even if it means leaving broken bodies and shattered dreams in their wake.



Additionally, the game also features an online battle mode for up to four players.

Hopefully there's a Canadian option for pre-ordering so I don't get hit with duty/shipping fees. Game is shameless enough with its Japanese nature that I want it as part of my collection.
