Yeah you can't really argue with the price. I feel like with a few more RPGs, Sony could have knocked it even farther out of the park, but they're in good shape regardless. How sick would it have been, though, to see a new "older" RPG like Legend of Legaia 3 or something crazy.

I recall psp was $250 also when it launched. It was worth the day 1 buy for me and so is the vita. I really cannot wait.

Surprisingly, it launched at the same pricepoint. Part of why it never got sales traction despite doing lots of the iPod Touch stuff, several years earlier.
Considering all the tech and power in the NGP, it's fully worth it this time.

The PSP was always "fully worth it", it was just unusual at the time for a handheld to cost that much. The DS was like $100 by the time the PSP hit american shelves. Now people carry around $600 smartphones so they can play Angry Birds.

And if the iPad3G pricing is any indication, it'll be $30/month. So a 3G Vita + mandatory 2 year data contract with AT&T = >$1k USD for your first two years of ownership, no games purchased.

Gonna get the 3G model most likely, might not actually get the 3G service right out of the gate but if they partner with someone else or some cool individuals find a way to allow me use the device on a different network or w/e I won't have to buy a new PSV.

Yeah PSP launched at $250, only difference is it went against the DS which launched at $150. Now with the 3DS at $250 and a lot of people disappointed at its power, PSVita seems to be in a much better position.

Assuming some good launch titles for PSVita (hopefully some RPGs), it'll be day 1 purchase for me at that price point. 250 for WiFi onry. Don't need 3G since my phone is always on me and is my portable hotspot. Planning to get a 4G phone after the summer too. <3

Yeah depending on how much the 3g service costs it may be cheaper to just buy the tethering option on your current phone plan and use that with wifi.
