Also, anyone here ever buy PSP games from PSN? How big are they roughly? I'll be getting FF type-0 over PSN to play on vita, but I want to know if a 4gb vita card will cut it.
Type-0 was somewhere around 2.3 gigs I think. Most games are much less, though.

Thanks guys, gonna go ahead with the bundle. If they take the "Not for Resale" bundle-games, I'll just trade little deviants right back in to EB and pick up something else.

they'll take it, but honestly for less than half what you would pay for it so if you arent going to play that game you'd be better off just buying a 4gig memory stick seperately

Transfer your umd purchases to your Vita (with a fee).

    http://www.jp.playstation.com/psvita/compatibility/umd/

    http://www.jp.playstation.com/psvita.../img/img_4.jpg

    1. Download a UMD Registration Application from PlayStation Store to your PSP

    2. Boot up the UMD Registration Application from your PSP's XMB menu and insert the UMD game you want to register into the system.

    3. Follow the prompts to register your UMD disc with your PSN account

    4. You can then download the downloadable version of your game at discount price.
    5/10/15$ roughly.

Kinda bullshit prices lol but I'll take it (ib4 SCEE fail). Gotta continue dem tactics ogre and dissidia duodecim in glorious HD!

EDIT: A bit more regarding PSP>VITA compatibility:

Boot up a PSP game on Vita, and you'll see the following screens:

The screen to the left is the LiveArea for the PSP game. If the game has a digital manual, you'll see an icon for the manual here.

To the right are some play options. You can toggle bilinear filtering, change settings for the right analogue stick and switch the color space to match the color of the PSP. For games that use the system's camera, you can switch between the front and back camera.

You'll be able to transfer your PSP saves to your Vita. The transfer can be done through the PS Vita Content Management program on your PS3 or PC. In the case of a PC, you'll need to install a program called "Content Management Assistant for PlayStation." This will be released later via the PlayStation.jp site. (Sony didn't say this, but the PS3 content management program will presumably be added to the system via firmware update).

If you have a UMD copy of a game, you'll need to use Sony's UMD Passport program to transfer it to the Vita (assuming it's supported by the program). For download versions, you can download the game directly from PS Store, or download it to your PS3 and transfer it from there to your Vita.
    Saves too? Day 1.

Am I the only one that is going to be holding out for a PSP Vita Slim/2000/lite/2.0? 5 Hour battery, 250$ price tag (thats the price of a ps3), and that huge size.

Pretty sure they just have to be on the same network. And the PS3 has to be on, if I recall correctly you can enable an option on the PS3 that lets you remotely turn it on using the PSP or something though, but I never really had much use for it so I didn't mess with it much.

I tried the remote play with my PSP a while back, theres a bit of lag with it. I tried playing Legend of Dragon while at a friends place on my PS3 and it worked for the most part but when it came to battles, the button combos wouldn't work. It was fun though. Just need an internet connection, and to activate it on the PS3 before you leave. Was pretty neat

I get the feeling someone will write a cfw plugin that spoofs the UMD insertion for that PSP app to get cheap legit copies.

Regardless, at least their system is hassle-free from a consumer standpoint. I was expecting them to require you to do something in person at a specific retail chain over there.

..I'd be tempted to do that if it gets rid of the godawful loading times in Spectral Souls.

I wouldn't get one at launch just cause it's always risky to do so. I'd wait a few months till you see if any one has any real problems, then decide if you want to wait or not.

That's pretty much luck right there i guess. I still have my day 1 launch ps3 and psp. Only thing i had to replace was the psp battery cuz it was swollen after so many years and wasn't holding it's charge. Lol

The sony products have generally held up well, but of course other systems havent really. Its just a general caution though to any one who wants to be an early adopter.

Is there a for sure list of launch titles? Depending on what's coming out at launch, or nearby, I may hold out for a bit.

Take out anything that involves touching japanese girls and you've got a good idea of what'll be available at the NA launch.

I'm doing the same too (well another thing is there aren't really any games on the PS Vita that I want atm).

In cases like that, might as well just play the game for free on the "PSP" rather than pay for a "cheap" copy >.> (though I support paying for games so [for example] SE doesn't hold out on localizing FF Type-0 because "there are too many pirates" [not what they said but we all know what they mean]).

Also as for consoles breaking - AFAIK didn't FFXIII (and other games) end up breaking a lot of fat PS3s due to the one laser thing?

UMD Passport: Only One PSN Account Per UMD
Thinking about cheating Sony's system to get some cheap PSP games through the UMD Passport program? Based off Sony's official press release announcing the program, you may not be able to.

The fine print in Sony's press statement (see it here in Japanese) says that once you've registered a UMD with a PSN account it can't be registered with another PSN account.

Sony has not provided details on how it can determine if a UMD has been registered or not.

The official announcement also clarifies a couple of additional issues:

The downloadable game you get through the Passport program can, like other PSP games, be used not just on Vita, but on your PSP or PSP go.

Sony announced 40 compatible titles today, but said that it has around 200 planned for compatibility. The full list of titles that will be compatible at the start of the program will be announced at the PS Vita promotion site in mid November.

The program will begin on December 6. Of course, Vita doesn't actually see release until December 17.

Wont the Vita be out in Japan for a few months before it comes out in NA? Shouldn't everything be the same hardware and software wise except for what language is default?
I figured JP would have to deal with all the potential problems and most of it would be fixed by the time there is a NA release.
