[Correction]

I bought the retail version of Minna no Golf 6, so the game's manual sheet (yes, some games have manuals) also listed a code for a free Online Play Ticket. Those that buy the game from the PlayStation Store have to buy this ticket separately.

I like this a la carte pricing if it means I can buy single-player only versions cheaper. Do games ever go down in price on PSN, as they would if they go Greatest/Ultimate/Platinum Hits on store shelves?

11$ for a online pass for one game, 60$+ for a acceptable memory card that is actually needed to play games, and the 250$ price tag which is equal to a PS3. Also It forces itself to update firmwires, and checks all files you transfer onto it.

Except the online pass comes with the game unless you buy it used, you can get a 4 gb memory card for $20 (still expensive, but it'll work fine, and you certainly don't need a 16 gb+ memory card), and why the hell are you comparing the price to a ps3? It's a handheld. Making things smaller costs more money, not to mention it's not using 6 year old hardware.

Did you read the article you posted? The physical copy of the game you buy in the store comes with the pass and is 4980 yen. The copy on the PSN does not have the pass and is 3900 Yen. The pass is 900 Yen on the PSN.

Monster Hunter 3G came out in Japan this month, of course the 3DS is moving units. I don't think the launch problems I've been hearing about helps Sony's situation though.

Dont doubt a price drop. The 3ds got a price drop real quick, and people gobble up nintendo products like it was apple or something; people just dont want to pay a premium these days even if the product is cutting edge, its about time companies realized that.

Also lol@price drop. Vita isn't overpriced to hell and back like it's retro 2005 counterpart. Quite the opposite.

At worst, they'll have to scale back mem card prices (which are indeed overpriced) and most importantly, get more decent software out there....with flexible pricing scheme.

Uncharted just isn't a system seller in Japan.

It's a couple days old, but just so everyone knows that destructoid article about Everybody's Golf d/l version requiring extra money for the online mode is complete bullshit. The d/l only version includes it. The 900yen online ticket is only to try to make money off of used versions of the game.

This is Half Byte Loader running the Picodrive emulator on the Playstation Vita, as a follow up to the Hello World that was announced a few days ago.

Usually I would show the entire loading process, but given the secret nature of the exploit and some of the loading process for now, I'm just showing some gameplay.

Please don't get your hopes too high. As you can read on my blog, Sony put into place some security that will basically make this exploit moot as soon as it is made available, so this is just useful for research right now, and just a "ray of hope"...

People who have used HBL in the past will recognize the distorted sound from Sonic, this is due to incorrectly estimated syscalls (the PSP emulator on the Vita is based on PSP Firmware 6.60, which has some enforced securities with syscalls). We might, or might not, fix this before the release.
