    VITA's coming to Taco Bell.

I'll have the #4, a taco supreme and side of PS Vita, please.'

Video games and fast food have been involved in a tumultuous love affair for decades. The two nurture each other, care for each other and compliment each other. Gaming's latest, and potentially cutest new couple, is the PS Vita and Taco Bell.

PlayStation and Taco Bell confirmed their love affair during CES 2012. To celebrate their undying love they are launching 'the biggest hardware giveaway in the history of PlayStation.' The promotion is called 'Unlock the Box.' Every 15 minutes a PS Vita will be given away from January 26 until March 11. Each Vita will comes with a copy of Little Deviants game card, 4GB memory card and a choice of the following: ModNation Racers, LittleBigPlanet (at launch), or MLB 12 The Show (at launch).

To win, all you have to do is buy a specially marked $5 Buck Box, which comes with a Cheesy Gordita Crunch, a Crunchy Taco, a Burrito Supreme and diabetes a medium fountain drink.

There are other ways to win too. 'In addition to 'Unlock the Box,' fans can win through Taco Bell's mobile app by battling their friends on Reality Fighters Dojo, an exclusive augmented reality game experience set on the $5 Buck Box. The third opportunity is by entering an online contest that will encourage users to boast about what they'd be willing to do for a PS Vita. Consumer videos and images that are submitted will be placed in an online gallery where viewers can vote for the winners.'

If PlayStation loves it they better put a ring on it.

You have to add something in addition to the quote to your post.

PlayStation Vita Sales Continue to Dive in Japan

You've no doubt read by now that PlayStation Vita simply isn't selling that well in Japan. After pushing nearly 325,000 units in its first two days on the market on December 17th and 18th, Vita has sold roughly half of that since. Just over 176,000 PlayStation Vitas have been sold overall from December 19th through January 15th in Japan, painting a troubling picture for Sony.

This comes on the heels of the latest sales reports, translated by Andriasang, that indicate Vita's precipitous fall in the week ranging from January 9th to January 15th. In that time, PlayStation Vita sold only 18,361 units, a fall of over 50% from the week before, when PlayStation Vita sold 42,915 units.

Indeed, PlayStation Vita was outsold by Nintendo 3DS from January 9th to January 15th by a ratio of over 5:1, and even PlayStation Portable, Vita's predecessor, managed to sell over 4,000 more units in the same time period.

The top twenty games sold at retail during that same time period shows no PlayStation Vita games, though, as always, it's worth noting that all Vita games are available digitally and aren't tracked by Media Create's methodology.

I don't do a lot of online console gaming. Except for last weekend when I wanted to, and realized I couldn't even log into PSN until I installed a bunch of shit for a handheld I'm now very unlikely to ever own. I expect similar shit the next time I turn on my 360.

It'll go back up once MH is released on it*

I have no doubt in my mind MH coming out on 3DS on Vita launch week is responsible for this.

Question! Is it known if any downloadable games will be playable on PS Vita? I was looking at getting Blood Rayne: Betrayal, and it looks like it'd be great for a portable game

Remember the 3G data plans for the PlayStation Vita that have been concrete for several months now? You know, the internet subscription plans solely provided by mobile superpower AT&T? Well, it doesn’t matter, because they’re changing… well, slightly.

In an announcement via the US PlayStation blog, the two 3G data plans being offered for on-the-go gaming and internet access are altering in structure. Instead of offering a 250MB plan for $15 and a 2GB plan for $25, your two new options are:

    - 250MB of data for $14.99, 30-day recurring opt out, which starts at the date and time of purchase.
    - 3GB of data for $30.00, 30-day recurring opt out, which starts at the date and time of purchase.
In math terminology, that’s roughly twelve times the data for twice the cost. That’s not a terrible offer if you’re someone who plans to be well invested in mobile gaming with your Vita.

If you could care less about 3G, then there’s always the Wifi only model, not to mention a lower price.

Mobile gaming? I thought you couldn't game on the 3G connection? I'm kinda new to the "What Vita can do over 3G" thing, can somebody fill me in?

Pretty sure that's the entire point. I doubt it'd be too great for any games that are extremely sensitive to lag, but it should be fine for others.

Don't know how stuff work in the US, but on 3G in Sweden I have 8MBit/s connection with 49 ping as 3G. Why wouldn't you be able to game with that? Do you have much worse ping or something?

somebody told me that the 3g was for shit like chatting, gps, sharing game stuff, and Near, but not for actual gaming due to latency issues with 3g (uzor, that destroys our 3g pings in the US, we get around 180ms)

Are all of the PSP titles guaranteed to work with the Vita? There weren't enough games in the PSP library to interest me in buying the unit but I'd definitely like to go back and play the few that did if there is guaranteed backwards compatibility.
