Can't decide if I want the first edition bundle or not.
Sorry but it is a $10 game. It is a $55 value as stated. The memory card is 30, the 3G "credit" is 15, that leaves a whopping $10 downloadable game.
Pre-order the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle to receive over $55 in bonus content. It comes with an 8GB Memory Card, DataConnect Session Pass, and PlayStation Network Game. All existing PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi pre-orders will be upgraded to the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Please read the PlayStation Network terms of use.
Which basically means you pay $15 to activate 3g, then you can get your free $10 game.... basically lets you get 2 months of 3G for $5 if you subtract the $10 game out of the $15 you are required to pay though.
I agree. I didn't care for the 3g any ways, so either way im pulling ahead buying everything sans 3g. I might just not get this at launch and wait for a wifi bundle.
Just got hands on with this @ best buy, jesus not what I was expecting.
Very VERY light, slim, but still long and wide, cause of that huge (and awesome) screen. The joysticks are awesome, and dpad is small but feels a lot better then the psp pad.
I still can't get over how thin but big the thing was, and how awesome the sticks and dpad were. I was playing little deviants, and the touch controls were natural, but took getting used to. Mannn now idk if I want it day 1 again...
Looks like games you download from the PSN will be $5 cheaper, than buying a physical copy.
32gb card is $99, that would put the price at essentially $10 per 3.2gb on the card for cost of space. average vita game is 1.75-3.5gb. so its about the same cost either way
NewEgg upgraded my preorder to the session pass+8gb mem card+free psn game, pretty cool. i was hoping they'd do that
Question, does the Vita use the same type of Memory Cards as the PSP or is it the SD cards?
New propriety format, roughly same size as a MicroSD.
No, they use new propreitary bullshit. 4 gb is $20, 8 gb is $30, 32 gb is $100, etc.
Fucking hell then
Still waiting to see if people will fashion adaptors for microsd cards like they did the mem stick duo.
So i'm quite unfamiliar with how PS in general work these days, xbox only etc. Was thinking about maybe getting a PS3 just for the catalogue of older games you can download, primarily the FFs. Is it possible to download from the PSN? like you can on the PS3 on the Vita too? Think i'd be much more interested in buying a Vita if that is the case cause i got very little room for a PS3 and i'm craving to play some of the older FFs.
All of the PS1 classics on PSN can be played on the PS3 or PSP so I see no reason they wouldn't be on the Vita as well (it's all the same PSN), but tbh since they weren't designed for such a tiny screen the experience is diminished quite a bit.
ex: I once tried playing VII on my PSP and after a few minutes of trying to read the tiny text, which is scaled to be on a TV rather than a hand-held, I just said screw it.
Vita's screen is slightly bigger tho (PSP 4.3" > Vita 5"). I would assume it has a better quality in the display as well.
Tbh tho, unless you really want the Vita for it's own games and the portability I'd say just get a PS3. Vita is 250/300$, a 120gb PS3 is 300$ and it's also a...PS3....with like, games and such.
160gb ps3 is actually 250. Just saying.
