Edit: Sent, think you're afk or something, couldn't tell you how to accept it though but apparently it is pretty apparent when you get the invite? Idk.

I deleted my character (RQ) because stupid robots are stupid, but completely forgot that they've stopped character creation on ship 2

Looks like I'm SOL for the next couple of weeks, cba to start on another server in the meantime, maybe the english patch will be close by the time I can play again..

Why would you delete your char instead of just making a new account? :V Not like you lose much unless you had AC

This all hinges on the way SoA/J will handle new patches.
If it's anything like PSU where SoJ/A wont work together to release the patches at the same time, it will just be another failure.

The fact that it wont be released until 2013 makes me feel this is a bad omen. I can not fathom what SoA will be doing all this time; the only thing I can think of is that theyll be doing VAs.
SoA, please leave the voices alone, we only want the text changed, and that would take a month at best, not over a half a year.

I debated when I should start playing this game; I wanted to wait until i heard the NA announcement before I made the call. If it were to be released within a couple months I would just wait for NA.. but now that it wont be until 2013..

It really is a loss of hype for a game where their fan base already knows SoA will make this a doomed game.

Im really hoping that Sega will be making a follow up announcement stating that the servers will be worldwide and that patches will occur simultaneous across the board.

Yeah, I'm gonna just stick with the JP release. We'll be several patches into the game before SoA even releases it here anyway, and what's the point in progressing through a game, only to completely restart and progress slowly through it in your native tongue? Fuck that, Honestly, I know some of my friends are gonna wait for the american release because it's less of a hassle.. but the only way I'd ever reroll is if I got IP Banned or something.

I'm sure some crafty individual will find a way to make the text show up in English if they don't allow us to switch. We'll probably have level 60 or 70 cap by the time this drops.

Apparently Joystiq got a hold of the PSO2 western announcement trailer, but it looks like it got taken down or something. Either way the official PSO2 NA/EU website is up so its legit. Coming early next year though.

I've been interested in the game since it was announced, always wanted to play, but since there's no english patch (wish there was an UI/Item translation at least) I've been holding off in case of a western release but with all that SoA gloom and doom and it being released sometime in 2013, I don't really know what to do...

Playing all alone and not being able to understand anything surely doesn't seem all that fun though

There is basically no progress to track. All the translating isn't an issue at all (and most of it was done back in CB), but nobody knows the new encryption from SEGA. It's either not-done or done, no inbetween.

Tried downloading from the offical site, the initial ~1mb file wouldnt even run.
Downloaded the full install from torrent, wouldnt patch.

Define "wouldn't patch". If it looked like it just wasn't moving that's normal, the patch was huge (CB -> OB update added new areas, bosses, weapons, NPCs, cutscenes, blah blah) and it takes a while.

To lazy to translate and cant upload a pic atm.

I launch pso2.exe, a splash screen pops up and patches gameguard, and then goes away all together.
I launch pso2updater.exe, and that just crashes.
I launch pso2launcher.exe, a splash screen + game updater appears, then a game prompt pops up with a button, and goes to the main splash screen. Pressing the big start button brings up the patcher, but just stays the top bar doesnt move, the middle bar goes all the way, and then a game prompt pops up... and now it works, lol. 3rd times the charm I guess.

Initially after hitting that last button nothing would happen, nothing in task manager, etc.

Oh well, works now.

The PSO2 client is really wonky, it usually looks like it isn't doing anything most of the time.
