Sakai hinting at subclasses (as are files in the game). There's an early dev screenshot floating around with a Hunter sub-tree that adds a bunch of new passives to Hunter. Like bonuses for Just Guarding or using Guard Stance. Presumably there'd be one for Force that adds specialization for Wind/Light/Dark if that image is still accurate.

Apparently they are gonna block non-JP residents. Doesn't mention an IP block, so hopefully they will just cut new registration for new users or something... worse case we're looking at a full IP block for anyone outside of Japan, fuck.

Ugh. This wouldn't piss me off if the release of this game wasn't so fricking far away. The wait is going to be painful if they do actually IP block us.

It apparently said something similar in the beta ToS. Hopefully this is just a change in the rules and they won't enforce anything. Blah I really hope I don't have to use a VPN to play.

fuck, that would piss me off so much. Really starting to enjoy it more now that I'm getting up there in levels

The news post doesn't state there's an IP block, so I'm optimistic we'll still be able to play just fine.

You cannot compare a closed minded korean company like NEXON with SEGA i've played all their online games (PSOBB,RF Online, Splash Golf, PSU and PSO2) to date and they always say the same in their ToS and never there has been a problem about ip blocking and such!

As long as you behave correctly in the game they are not going to ban you or do a massive IP ban at all.

Take as you will, general consensus is we're fine and it's just part of the ToS but we'll have to wait and see for confirmation.

There is no block right now, just an addition to the ToS. Some people are claiming certain European IPs are blocked. Apparently some IP ranges in my ISP are blocked in the UK but I have no problem logging in right now, so we'll see.

As for lastnights update, the stage is fucking awesome. Had to head out so I haven't done the new bosses yet (recoloured Caterdran and Quartz Dragon), prob gonna hop on and do them in a few.

Edit: Okay Caterdran is literally identical to caves one but blue, lame as hell. Quartz Dragon on the other hand is fucking amazing. Yet another awesome fight, wasn't expecting Varder to get topped so quickly but they managed to. Fun and actually surprisingly hard. Almost wiped at one point when he one shot Aki and Zio. I was stuck trying to revive them with Panic fucking up my movement directions and almost died in the process.

Yeah, Quartz was really, really exciting and intense. Loved the music and the setting. Catadran just seemed like he had more HP and was slightly more annoying.. but basically the same. Quartz exceeded my expectations. I can't wait for a Falz-like boss.

They blocked almost all of Europe to ban 1 guy from PSOBB JP when he was making a mess of it, so I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled it again.

Sakai added a clause to the PSO2 terms of service which basically forbids other countries from playing it. There was a similar description from the Alpha and Beta test but it has now returned.

They have already planned to launch PSO2 separately in North America / Europe in 2013. Also they are looking into launching it in Asia separately.

One of the reasons for this TOS change is to make it easier to address malicious users. Unfortunately it appears most of the malicious acts are coming from overseas territories. Even today, they had to take down the game for maintenance just to address exploits found by these players.

Since there have been many good foreign players who have already made progress into the game, they really do no want to cut off the connections of everyone playing outside of Japan. HOWEVER, if malicious acts from overseas players continue, they will be forced to take drastic measures. In addition, they are no longer accepting foreign card payments anymore also as a countermeasure against malicious players.

Of course there will be malicious activity in the future, and he asks that everyone continues to use the wicked user form to report them.

Future Updates
In September, 3 new classes and 5 new weapon categories are going to be implemented into the game. The new classes are in similar line with the 3 existing classes consisting of close range combat, long distance combat, and tech and you’ll be able to use the new weapon categories with these classes. In order to access these new classes, you must be level 30 in either Hunter, Ranger, or Force, and clear a specific client order. When you change to the new classes you’ll start at level 1.

Since many players have requested the ability to move their characters across different ships, he plans to implement this service in the update in September. And by popular demand, he’s going to update the way the recycle shop works which can only mean one thing! Not only will you be able to use AC costumes to trade, but you can also use the items you get from the AC Scratch.

In addition to the existing client orders, he’s also going to implement something like a daily client order. With “Daily Orders” the client order contents are different each day.

Even the team features are going to be expanded upon. There will be client orders that team members can perform. If you accumulate points, you can have your very own Team Room!

Premium Package Mag
It was mentioned that the premium package was going to have a mag evolution device. PSO1 players should be familiar with the Sato mag! Also expect 5 original weapons in the premium package. What they are is a mystery at this point.

Premium package sounds cool. A shame we can't get those anymore! Lol. And yeah.. I figured it was because of the fgts who are hacking around lobbies.

Honestly, we can blame a certain group of people who are using those trailers and other bullshit for basically costing those (maybe not myself) a chance to play the game.

You can still buy the stuff but you'll have to use a middleman service like SuToCorp and the mark-up is just criminal. Doesn't help that the yen/dollar ratio is in the crapper either.
