Yeah, I haven't played in a while in hopes the NA release is soon and good. If I get bored enough though, I'll probably end up back in the JP version.

Play keyboard mouse just because I was used to it in years of PSO:BB, but yeah, I'm sure controller is infinitely better.

I was raised on controllers and it's my preferred method but running/aiming/shooting in 3rd person mode feel better with KB/M.

That says it failed. You didn't enter your password twice(or correctly both times).

ah, the segaID auto defaulted it to lowercase, and is case sensitive. The first letter of mine was upper case, so when I tried to type it the same way, gave me nothing (found out it was all lowercase by checking the email they gave me)

captcha is only going to be in hiragana is my understanding, so just match it with the keyboard, copy and paste.

At one point it was in katakana. Moreover, they're only active for 2 minutes.

Hey folks, I have a couple questions if anyone is willing to help me out. I've been having trouble finding answers elsewhere

Anyway, I played the heck out of PSO and I'm wondering how similar it is. From the videos I've seen, the loot, zone progression, etc. look pretty similar, but the combat has some differences. If any PSO veterans could help me understand some major similarities and differences, it would be much appreciated.

Did you ever play PSU? If so, the combat is sort of close to that, only not shit. The feel of the game is very PSO in terms of looting/hunting/etc.. there's even rare mobs (bosses too, though the spawn rates don't' seem as bad as it is with original PSO) and.. sound effects, and stuff sound similar too.

All in all, it's what PSU could have been if it didn't end up being complete garbage IMO.
