Wow, it's pretty pitiful they could find that many people who didn't know if/who was running in their district.

Still, I don't know if we should necessarily demonize moderates or the rallygoers. News TV is always explaining the newest legislation in the most dramatic terms possible. "This bill will force you to put up illegals in your basement for free." "This bill will make abortions illegal, and talking about abortion will be punishable by tongue removal." The "hyperbolic rhetoric" has gotten so extreme that it's inaccessible to moderates. Such statements reek of bullshit, and there's pretty much nowhere that's just telling the story without a slant. It ends up disenfranchizing people who are smart enough to know that there's a slant but not politically devoted enough to read the actual legislation. Also, the extreme emotions that networks like CNBC and FOX are whipping up make politics seem dangerous to more "mild" people. They don't want arguments, so they won't talk about politics. They don't want to talk about politics, it's asking a lot to require them to sift through hours of bullshit every night just to try and stay informed.

I'm glad someone articulated this, rather then just hating on the moderates~ Shits murky as all hell.
