you heard it krye. Get back in the church where you belong
Priests are only good against shitty opponents. If you know how to LoS dispels and mana burn as well as outranging psychic scream then you've cut our effectiveness down to 1/10th. Our efficiency is shit, our throughput is shit, our survivability is shit, the only way we win is if our opponent is a downer that stands in the middle of the map.
I saw a thread on AJ where DKs were saying every healer should log out and delete their character if they lose to a DK 1v1...EXCEPT for priests, cause we eat a dick that hard. When I was playing 2v2 on my warlock, I died in a 2v2 match and my druid partner just healed himself for 45 minutes straight until the draw timer. Druids, paladins, and shamans are unkillable, uncontrollable(divine shield, shapeshift, sacrifices, tremor totem, ghost wolf, hand of freedom), infinite mana healing machines.
Everybody refers to priests as free kills and there are many viable comps based solely around the fact that you can zerg a priest down through peels and cooldowns, it doesn't fucking matter how well his team plays because he'll go down like a bitch.
hook, line, and sinker.
Spoiler: show
also, nothing beats rock.
you might think paper does, but fuck what you think.
Paper beats rock when it can keep 2 of your partners CC'd for 50% of the game and do 30K damage in the space of a shadowfury or deep freeze
I will say though it was fun messing on holy priest in pvp. I know disc is better, but I seemed to survive better as holy. this (imo) is because I had shit for pvp gear on priest. But since my pve gear was good, my healing was awesome.
For the most part in both my 3s team and in bgs I would stand still and spam renew, PoM, CoH, then flash heal until they were up again, and people couldn't fucking kill me. Granted I wasn't doing shit to them and the battle would end when either other enemies decide to help (in bgs), or allies decided to come up and pick off the horde one by one while they tried to kill me. (basically what my 3s team did).
kinda fun cause I could tell horde would get so pissed off if they were 1 vs 1 with me for minutes on end. They'd start spam emoting me and shit lol
Blessed Resilience - Increases the effectiveness of your healing spells by 3%, and critical hits made against you have a 60% chance to prevent you from being critically hit again for 6 sec.
I guess that's why holy is good for you if your pvp gear sucks. Disc is better in every other way, holy is trash garbage shit. But it doesn't matter because even with 1400 resil I'll die in a stun/silence. Sure, your survivability becomes greater as your gear increases, but likewise your opponents do more damage as their gear increases and the problem multiplies exponentially when you factor PVE gear into the equation. I played to 2500 2v2 with a shadowmourne warrior it was the most lol shit I've ever done in my life. He would just train one target and kill anything in a few seconds if they didn't have a healer and if they did have a healer the healer would run OOM in less than a minute from having to spam heals. If I play shadow, I can wear my 277 offset pieces and H Spyglass to trade off maybe 150 resil for 100 SP 10% haste and 3% crit. Shit's retarded.
Serendipity - When you heal with Binding Heal or Flash Heal, the cast time of your next Greater Heal or Prayer of Healing spell is reduced by 12%. Stacks up to 3 times. Lasts 20 sec.
VS
Enlightenment - Increases your total Spirit by 6% and increases your spell haste by 6%.
Borrowed Time - Grants 25% spell haste for your next spell after casting Power Word: Shield, and increases the amount absorbed by your Power Word: Shield equal to 40% of your spell power.
Penance - Faster than greater heal, costs less than flash heal, channeled so you can cancel it early to juke an interrupt
hey it sounds nice, but basically getting constant instant heals seemed to work out more.
trust me, I was going disc 100% of the time, and then one time I forgot to switch from holy spec at the start of a bg. And I lasted 10x longer than I was as disc.
Again I had like the 3 wrathful off-pieces and I think relentless legs and that was it. So it's skewed by lack of gear.
Of course this isn't to say I lasted well, because I had shit for gear, just that I seemed to last longer.
PVP priests stack spirit or haste, so you'll never have enough crit to make surge of light useful. Circle of healing is like 2K on a 6 second CD?
It's okay though, I understand. A mage friend of mine only plays fire in PVP because it's easier, even though fire is a shit spec. The potential of a frost mage is infinitely larger than that of a fire mage, yet he did better as fire because he's a scrubshit noob.
