Disgaea 4

Dengeki Online has more details about Disgaea 4′s online features. The magazine confirmed their tease about a map editor – Disgaea 4 definitely has one. Players can create maps to battle on and share them over the Internet where other players can rate it.

You can also invade another player’s congress sessions by sending your characters as senators. Like map making and the pirate battles, this is also a network feature.

Disgaea 4 has two more new jobs: battle suit and android. Unfortunately, scans have not surfaced yet so you’ll have to imagine what these classes look like while we seek them out.

Online Details/Map Edit:

You can set Victory/Game Over conditions

You can rate and leave comments on other people maps

Defeating players online nets you User Slayer weapons, these weapons increase every time you kill other players online

You can also customize stage clear screens and character? text with personal messages

Online players can join assembly as well?

You can also set BGM in map edit as well

Example conditions they gave:

Standard "destroy all enemies"
"Destroy all enemies within set number of turns"
I don't know this one, but something involving going through Dimensional Gate.

You can also get Sample Maps of the story maps you cleared?

You can also set enemy A.I

Guess it's time to go buy a PS2 (lolBackwardsCompatability?) and play the first three games so I know what the fuck's going on. This series has interested me simply because of the character designs; they're gorgeous.

If you have a PSP I highly suggest PSP versions over PS2 versions, Disgaea 3 is PS3 though. If you're just playing for story, then PS2 versions are ok I guess, but if you're gonna do a bit of endgame stuff, then PSP versions are a lot better. The stories aren't exactly great, but they aren't like god awful either, Disgaea 1 still has best story, IMO. The story is different in each one and has new characters. Most people play Disgaea for gameplay and endgame content though. But yeah, if you can get the PSP versions, go with those instead.

Was hoping Index and Horo/Holo was characters and not skill animations, boo. What do their attacks do exactly? Does it say?

Omega Wind is strongest/highest tier Wind Spell, all it does is Wind damage, and Omega Heal is strongest/highest tier Heal Spell. I don't think they are adding Peta spells, so Omega will be highest in this one

I really only like everyone from D1. D2 was a joke to me, and D3, while not bad, didn't have enough memorable characters. They need to bring back Captain Gordon (especially his english voice actor - I love that hammy, campy style) and have him boss more people in the face.

Small translation info taken from friend

- You can decorate your base and even move NPCs around.

- Some Evil Symbols (structures on the war map, works like clubs in D3) gives special abilities to characters.

- Evil Symbol such as the Item World Radar can give you a better idea of what may appear in the forks of the Item World (see the before and after image)

- Building railways (requires the Makai Railway Symbol) allow your characters to travel to the end of the rail from the home panel.

- All Symbols have range effectiveness aka Evil/Magic Area. The best part is that Symbol ranges can overlap, there is an image of Desco with three Symbols.

- The Aura Pyramid shares 50% mana between members just like the Robber Club from D3.

A bodyguard hired with money. With a robust body, they excel in the ability to support nearby characters and are useful as a VIP escort and the like. If several Bouncers are hired, they'll keep any kind of demon away!?

Larhal and Etna initially appear… as enemies? Nippon Ichi released screenshots of the overlord matching swords with Valbatoze, the vampire protagonist in Disgaea 4.

These screenshots show Etna, Fuka, and their Prinny teams at war.

Having a D3 save data also unlocks a Evil Symbol that allows confiscation of representative items. This Evil Symbol is still obtainable in-game through other means.

I'm hoping that's not all we get for having a D3 save...
