As much as I want to like this.. I just can't trust it after the steaming pile of shit that was the first game.

2nd game is x10 better. Plays like a typical RPG like this one will.

If it wasn't for the item system then the first would have been alright.

Compile Heart's games have, for better or worse, improved by leaps and bounds since they started bringing in Inafune/Comcept to help out on their projects. If they'd focus just a bit more on the actual games, and a little less on selling things via animu moeblob overdose garbage, they'd actually be able to churn out some decent titles.

Is the battle system a little faster?

It just felt slow, clunky, and unfun. I mean I usually try to give games a chance..but I couldn't stomach the first beyond the first dungeon.

It felt more like a high end PS2 game than a PS3 game. Sorry, not trying to rain on the parade. I *like* the idea of this game, just felt the execution of it was so poor.

Hardest optional boss in the game but gives you an idea at least.

The first game was literally an abomination in the gameplay department. Anyone that tries to argue that it was "passable" or anything else is deluded. I still haven't finished the original HDN because the battle system made me want to pull my hair out, and I just couldn't stomach it anymore.

Mk2 is a vastly improved game, it's still got it's flaws, but it's playable and at least halfway decent.

    I thought it was great

Item usage priorities were broken, which was a pain, but otherwise i have no complaints.

HDN was boring as hell, but I stuck with it still, thank god for the skip function though, without I don't know if I'd be able to plat it. Share grinding was my biggest problem with HDN, thank god its much easier and quicker in the 2nd and V.

The OP skills make all battles quick though with the skip function in HDN, and since you get Neptune Break at lv20, the battle instantly become much quicker with it. Transforming is useless in mk2 though, in the first one it was very useful, not sure with V, though.

Also, isn't Trinity Universe much slower than HDN? Mostly due to the fact you can't skip animations and whatnot? I still have yet to get around to playing it even though I have it, but after playing and attempting Mugen Souls plat, I don't even wanna play it at all now... Did not expect Mugen Souls plat to be so insanely long.

I'm still on the last chapter of Trinity Universe and it's slow. They improved on it in the first game, but it still felt slow as in TU. Only problem with TU is the grind.

Trinity was slow, yeah, but I don't think it felt quite as disjointed as the first HDN. I thought I remembered there being an animation skip in it though, they just don't tell you how to do it? Honestly, I don't remember, it's one of the games that I've tried to block out most memory of playing. If there's two CH/IF games that I wouldn't suggest to anyone looking to retain their sanity, it's HDN and Trinity. Mk2 and Mugen Souls are actually relatively solid games though.

I just wish there wasn't massive slowdown the majority of time when doing battles in Mugen Souls, using multi-hit/kill skills you have to wait like 5 sec or so for the skill to go off every single time there's like 5-6+ enemies, which is almost every battle.

    Rated T for..

This is a role-playing game in which players control a young goddess on a quest to return home from an alternate dimension. As players advance the storyline, they use swords, lances, guns, and colorful light attacks against fantasy creatures (e.g., plants monsters, dragons, robots). Combat is turn-based, and damage is indicated by impact sounds and a loss of hit points. During the course of the game, some female characters are dressed in low-cut outfits that expose large amounts of cleavage and/or buttocks; one bathing sequence depicts female bodies partially obscured by hot-spring mist and soap suds. Characters also make several suggestive/sexual comments (e.g., “Are those boobies? Mine get big when I transform” “Wait, is she a dominatrix…?” “I’m sorry for all the foreplay” and “Even if you get groped a bit, or get into some kinky stuff, you’ll end up able to transform.”). The words “sh*t,” “a*shole,” and “b*tch” appear in the dialogue.

^This. Luckily there's enough good games to easily hold me over until then, although I have to wait a week after release to get my copy.

The latest entry in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series is God Dimension Idol Neptune PP, this week’s Dengeki PlayStation reveals.

The fourth game in the franchise, PP‘s platform, release date, and console are currently unknown. (Our source lists it for PlayStation 3, but every other Japanese blog we’ve scoured lists it as unknown.)

Note: We’re referring to this as its literal Japanese translation as opposed to its localized name Hyperdimension Neptunia.

This is because unlike previous Neptunia games, which were titled Super Dimension Game Neptune, Super Dimension Game Neptune Mk2, and God Dimension Game Neptune V in Japan, this one nixes “Game” for “Idol.”

That said, I’m not sure how NIS America would title this, or whether they’d choose to ignore the the word and call it Hyperdimension Neptunia PP regardless.

    Maybe it’s an Idolmaster-type spin-off?

    Trailer for the Anime

Enjoying the game a lot so far, definitely much better than the original 2. This one also has more parodies and references compared to first two as well, IMO. There's also Godly Game Disks you can create that are even named after popular game series, such as Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, Monster Hunter, Super Mario, Gran Turismo, etc.

Noire is still OP and the best character. Scout system is very cool and allows you to become OP very early on in the game, can make best accessory as early as chapter 4 due to it, and can make Vert's 2nd best weapon in chap 4 as well due to scout system. To me, the game is also more challenging than the first two as well, some Bosses/Tough/Risky foes do require some strategy of some sort and good equipment as well, you'll also be using items more often due to this as well.

Neptune feels like her original self again, doesn't seem dull like she was in MK2, she's just so awesome in this one, lol. The game also tells how players and reviewers found Nepgear boring, which was so hilarioussssssssss, 'cause it was true. However, though, they did make her less boring now in this one. The Babies are quite hilarious to me, I loved the scenes involving them.

The Battles in this one also feels more fluid and faster as well, there's also like no slowdown at all, except when maybe you use a AoE skill against a big group of mobs, and even then, the animation isn't exactly slow. I also like how Shares aren't really as important this time around, as in needed for endings and whatnot. There's also a few new dungeons and mobs, but for the most part, there's recycled mobs/dungeons from mk2. And grinding/leveling is also a lot easier in this one as well.
