"Iratham" is the family name. "Caturae" is more like "Demons" or "Aquans", whatever you wanna call that. Order, I guess.

Pretty sure Iratham is a specific mob name and Caturae is the family name (though I don't know the difference between the family name and the "Demons or Aquans" as you quoted).
It's not. The "bestiary" part of the add-on pages are all listing family names. There is no mob named "Adenium" or "Elasmoth", but there is a "Rubicund Adenium" or a "Hadhayosh".
Put it simply: "Caturae" is a group of families including Irathams and (presumably) Iron Giants, much like "Vorageans" is a group of families including Murex, Limules, etc. or "Aquans" is a group of families including Crabs, Krakens, etc.
Really, guy? Have you ever seen this chart? Or spent 5 seconds on BLU?

SE also came up with most of the family names, but players tend to use their own term if they got used to it before the family name was official/the official family name is retarded (i.e. Acroliths are officially Mumbo Jumbos, Wamoura are officially Magma Moths).
Additionally, the term "family" applying to mobs of the same general model and whatever you choose to call a group of these families are player-invented terms.
BLUs still care about affinity?
Oh you mean knowing the name, my bad carry on.
Yeah caught that and editted it, my bad.
In a CS after beating Quest NM in Chasm a NPC says, and I quote:
Sehrahin, a moment.
Do you know the enigmatic family of beings known as the Caturae? (Shows pic of Iratham)
Their freakish appearance bears no resemblance to anything I've ever seen...but that's not all.
There's something unnatural about them--even among the twisted creatures that emerged during the cataclysm--though I can't exactly say what. The one time I had the ill luck of crossing paths with one, I found myself stricken with terror, unable to think or act.
Somehow I managed to find my legs and escaped, but others haven't been as fortunate.
For your sake, I hope you never have to deal with the creature.
Edit: Thought it was Sippoy first but after closer inspection it was Iratham. Same claws but different head.
It should be mentioned that Yaanei, Kutharei, Sippoy are all under the Arcana "superfamily" or whatever you wanna call it. They're intimidated by Arcane Circle for certain.Put it simply: "Caturae" is a group of families including Irathams and (presumably) Iron Giants, much like "Vorageans" is a group of families including Murex, Limules, etc. or "Aquans" is a group of families including Crabs, Krakens, etc.
I'd imagine Iron Giants are technically all Arcana as well simply because the spawns for Ironclad Pulverizer coem from Arcana. Although I've not personally seen them intimidated to be absolutely sure. By comparison, the spawns for Amhuluk all come from birds, the spawns from Cirein-croin all come from Aquans, and the spawns for Sobek all come from Lizards.
Example:(though I don't know the difference between the family name and the "Demons or Aquans" as you quoted).
Sabertooth Tiger in Batallia Downs. Is a tiger subspecies. Is part of the Tiger Family. Is part of the Beast Superfamily.
War Smilodon in Jugner [S]. Is part of the smilodon subspecies. Is part of the Tiger family. Is part of the Beast Superfamily.
Oil Spill in Garlaige Citadel. Is part of the slime subspecies. Is part of the Slime Family. Is part of the Amorph Superfamily.
Mountain Clot in Mt Zhayolm. Is part of the clot subspecies. Is part of the Slime Family. Is part of the Amorph Superfamily.
Following this pattern, it's presumed that:
Yaanei, Kutharei, Sippoy are all part of the Iratham subspecies of the Caturae Family. Of the Arcana Superfamily.
(Note: Some people call "superfamily" something else. "Ecosystem", "Group" all come to mind, but whatever.)
I believe Iron Giants a family of their own, under arcana superfamily.
And Yaanei, Kutharei, Sippoy and Iratham are Caturae family, under arcana superfamily.
Looking at the NPC chat above they specifically show a mob (Iratham) as Caturae family.
Edit: Also to be mentioned is that all 4 Caturae mobs have different designs, 3 different claws and 4 different heads. Possibly more variations.
Interesting but it's not proof. As I said, "family" in player jargon is defined by players, SE uses the term rather loosely. For example, until recently, magian trials might ask you to kill "hippogryph family" mobs, or "aquan family" mobs. And if you look at the chart on the last page, it uses one family in a group to represent the entire thing as a visual aid. Not all Aquans are pugils.
Also, there's like what, 5 different models in the "Chariot" family (4 bosses/1 generic)? Unique models for each iratham doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Mutri bow and Ame-no-ohabari?
Maybe they are the proto-cardians, the experiment must have gone horribly wrong.
I've always read it as a "cycle of life"
Bugs eat plants, lizards eat bugs, beasts eat lizards, when beasts die their corpses feed the soil plants grow from.
