    Why do all browsers suck?

    Srsly

Every single browser I've used since 2006 has become shitty after a while. First Opera, then FF, then Chrome, then FF, and now Chrome again.

FF slows down to a crawl after a while (and nothing I've done has improved it), Chrome keeps crashing and now has started to throw me to completely random pages after I hit the back button. What the shit.

I'm at loss as to what to do now.

It's time to move to IE I guess.

    j/k

sounds like your computer is what sucks in all honestly. I'd say it's time to do an OS reinstall, and don't mess it up this time. Browse with firefox+noscript if you're going to sites you don't *trust*. ie, all porn sites.

Firefox works perfectly fine on my Intel Atom/1GB RAM laptop so pretty sure your computer sucks if it's chugging.

Browse through this and download CCleaner & other diagnostic programs for your machine.

Aside from a few website quirks here and there, ive never had an issue with IE.

Chrome is actually really awesome in its current phase/build. It's much faster on my netbook with a slow hard drive, 2GB of DDR2 and a 1.66GHz Atom, in comparison to FF anyway. I used FF forever, and when Chrome came out, I switched to it, but it had absolutely no support for any of the FF addons that I loved so much, namely AdBlock. In it's current state though, it supports it all, and is amazingly fast on page loads as well as not hogging nearly as much memory as FF did. I like the current Chrome, and I completely agree that you almost certainly have other PC issues if you're having some crazy/awful performance out of your browser.

I prefer chrome 6 or ie9 for the speed. FF is too slow, even the beta with all the gpu acceleration shit turned on.

Does Chrome have noscript yet? That's a dealbreaker.

last I heard, chrome's adblock didn't work the same way as firefox, it'd remove the ads post loading, rather than preventing them from loading at all. has this changed?

Currently using Pale Moon + noscript and loving it. I know very little about browsers but this was recommended to me and works like a charm.

I don't know about "all" of them because I don't really use very many add-ons, but the ones I do use have worked.

Shouldn't have to do anything, they should already be there... worked that way for me since I am pretty sure it uses your firefox profile, etc
